Thought I'd make the first thread on this board a positive one.

Nice job closing the thing our Chris Ray - love shutting up them Yankee fans, even if it's just for a night.

Adam Loewen really gets me excited for the future of this club...

but then I remember that Peter Angelos is still here.

If you forget that Angeloser is still the owner of this ball club then we really do have a few young talents to get excited about and the fact that a guy like Markakis has come straight and just been flat out superb really does kick some serious keester, hopefully his power numbers will come with time as expected, but he is hitting for a great average this year (helping my two fantasy teams out no end. :D

O's are kicking some yankmees butt today. 12 to 2 in the bottom of the 9th. I think it's safe to say theyre going to win.

Well they took 2 out of 3 from them in the Bronx. Nice. Would have been a sweep if the bullpen could have held the lead for Bedard on Tuesday.

When's the last time the O's had a Rookie of the Year? Because Nick Markakis might be it this year!

Also, funny to see Rodrigo Lopez, Russ Ortiz, and Bruce Chen combine to hold the Yankees to two runs. weren't all three of them supposed to be cast aside by now? An how the hell did Ortiz escape an inning against the Yankees without giving up a run, much less 3-5? Strange days...

Any other year Markakis would be a top contender for the AL rookie of the year, but with Liriano and Verlander in the AL, I don't see how he can win it unfortunately.

I honestly hoped that this forun would always remain empty as a symbolic gesture. It was great when there were threads everywhere but here.

I guess with MASN we should at least be able to compete with the big boys, but I don't expect that money to be well spent as long as Angeloser is making baseball decisions.

No way he even gets consideration with Liriano and Verlander in the mix.

I think Cal was the O's last Rookie of the Year.

That was the first Orioles game I have got to see this year! I loved that it was against the Yankees!!!

I was in temple bar, Dublin a few weeks ago and met the grand daugther of the owner of the Yankees! Nice girl, looked like Reece Weatherspoon but I gave her plenty of crap! She was rich...she will get over it! :D

Don't forget Papelbon in Boston.

Markakis is having a great rookie season but he won't be ROY.

I honestly hoped that this forun would always remain empty as a symbolic gesture. It was great when there were threads everywhere but here. Not sure I understand why that would be "great".

I think it would be great to have not one, but two quality run sports organizations in Baltimore. As it is, that is obviously not the case and I think many passionate Ravens fans are also passionate about "dem Os".

Yes, the future is bleak as long as Angelos is the owner, but it is nice to see a player like Markakis playing well and actually developing into a decent young player.
