A rod has been getting beamed left and right yet he shows so much self control and doesnt retaliate, and all this because he said Ha. Its a good thing that most of the Yankee players held him back otherwise it would have been ugly. As fans of sport we should also congratulate him for hitting 500 hrs--hey at least its legit.

I'm not saying he's NOT legit but why does he get a free pass in this era? Raffy didn't look like he used steroids and had a very consistent career with his power numbers.
We are in an era in baseball where no man who is currently playing should automatically be given the benefit of the doubt just because he doesn't look like Barry "Giant Cranium" Bonds.
Just to repeat, I don't believe A-rod is a juicer, but we can never say for certain.

A Rod is possibly the best baseball player of all time, at last among the greatest. However the (Ha) incident, following the "girlie" slap of the ball on his way to 1st base just shows what a PUNK he is! No A-ROD fan here!

To explain my position further. If the question is, how good is X for the game of baseball, the answer, expressed as a 3d grade mathematical formula, is:
A-Rod > Barry Bonds > Bud Selig

You have to be CRAZY to separate him from this controversy. The man is HUGE. Roger Clemens is another Yankee I'd bet my left pinky toe that did steroids. Giambia too obviously. In fact, what I think will come out this offseason is that prior to '03, 300-500 players were involved with 'roids. I think you will also find that no fewer then 100 players are still on HGH. That number, IMO could be as high as 400-500, CURRENT users. AROD would be very high up my suspected list.

Just because you suspect that he is doing roids doesnt mean he is. ARod is a natural. When he was with Seatle and texas everyone loved him. Now you want to discredit a legit player just because he is a Yankee. That sucks but I guess it comes with the territory.
Is Giambi? Well he said he was sorry for something but I still cant determine what it was he was apologizing about. Until someone tells me hes done it and he admit to it then I'll believe it. As far as Clemons He does appear to have some of the characterics of doing roids, you know watermelon type head and shit but I have to believe MLB would have raised more questions if they felt he was on it.

The "HA!" incident showed ARod is a little bitch. He was a bitch with Seattle, a bitch with Texas, and he's a higher-profile bitch as a Yankee.
Oh, and Giambi did admit to using steroids before a grand jury. That came out what, 3 years ago?

Bitch? What kind of talk is this toward the youngest player to hit 500 home runs? Hes a great player, just admit it and stop being angry. So what he tried to gain an advantage by yelling HA, Im grateful thats the only kind of advantage he sought out (instead of roids) besides I've seen many players do that shit on the softball field plenty of times.
Jose Conseco has another book coming out, or so I head on the radio a day or two ago, and he apparently hinted he has a bomb to drop about ARod. Maybe it is that he doesn't juice, but I wouldn't count my chickens.
Frankly, I am disgusted with baseball.
When I first heard Selig would not be in SF last night I thought "good, Bonds doesn't deserve the recognition" but then I realized Selig and the owners are as much to blame for this as the players. They should all be made to watch it and while it won't happen it would be great if the fans all booed when he breaks Aaron's clean record.

I'm inclined to think A-Rod hasn't really done steroids. The guy has CONSISTENTLY and ALWAYS been good ever since his 2nd-3rd season. His body hasn't radically changed, either.
Of course steroids aren't always physically evident, but there isn't much suspicious about him in my mind. I wouldn't rule them out, but to me, A-Rod seems natural.

What? Only just as liable? Excuse me? This is almost COMPLETELY Selig's fault. It is not a ridiculous stretch to put it ALL on his shoulders. He was in charge of the game, from a PARTISAN position as on "owner" of the Brewers. He allowed and applauded the game to get where it was in 2003 knowing ALL about what was going on. It wasn't cheating until '03, and thus I can't blame people foir doing it before then. Don't ANYONE forget either that in the 70's it's use was legal and prevalent. IMO, in the years of 98-03 it's use was prevalent and within the rules of the game. Since '03 Barry, nor any other player in question has tested positive. Therefore there is no reason to separate ANY of those players from each other. There are people who have failed or admitted(Raffy, Jose, Giambi), and there are those who haven't, and suspicion is high(Barry, Clemens, AROD...).
This age is no more cheating then was Babe playing against whites only. It's no more an advantage then Aaron home stadium at the end of his career. We;re talking about a couple dozen feet maybe.
That said, while I do not free AROD from suspicion, I fully admit he is one of the top 2 overall players in Baseball. Pujols may be having an off year, but he is jsut as solid a player, while younger. He is the next generation... AROD will likely beat this record, and if he does so with 7 MVP's, 6 Golden Gloves, a couple hundred stolen bases and more walks then some teams... All of which are possible... Then he may go down as the greatest overall player ever. I hate him as a Yankee, but he is an immense talent and I will not deny that.

Professional MLB players should be held to a higher standard than your average amateur softball league, where half the players are just there to get drunk. Yelling "Ha!" and the glove-slapping incident were bitch moves that you would expect from a Little Leaguer who didn't get his way. ARod is a great regular season hitter, but prone to throw a tantrum when he doesn't get his way and not to mention how he folds up like a baby in the postseason.
When are you going to admit you were wrong about Giambi?
Until someone tells me hes done it and he admit to it then I'll believe it.

I am a die hard Yankee hater,so I would love to see any proof you may be able to provide regarding steroid use. I don't think that you would be foolish enough to accuse players without some sort of solid evidence. Are you a Yankee insider, or are we all supposed to trust your gut feeling?

Understand this, MLB Commish, and NFL Commish, are two very different jobs. In the NFL the bargining position of the NFLPA is considerably weaker than that of the MLBPA. Decisions in the NFL are made after consultation with the NFLPA. In MLB due to a stronger position held by the MLBPA everything the league wants or needs to do is subject to the MLB CBA, and every alteration to that CBA must be negotiated.
As far as the Babe Ruth smack, your reasoning is so flawed that you would have to include all baseball records prior to integration, including Negro Leagues. Playing in any league is not an endorsement by the player of the views or opinions of the league. Therefore Ruth can not be held responsible for league decisions, any more than Bonds can be held responsible for Selig's hair cut.
Barry Bonds is not charged with any crime ( yet) But where there's smoke there's fire.
In the 70's there was not much steroid use because not as much was known about steroids , nor were steroids widely available. In the 70's speed unfortunately was the performance enhancer of choice.
If Bonds is never charged, then he should take his place with the greatest baseball players of all time. If he has been cheating... You can't bury him deep enough for me. No Hall of Fame, Strike his records from the record books , don't allow his number to be retired. Goodnight Jonboy.

Actually, quite the opposite. My point is that without any evidence, I don't see the point in finger pointing at all. If you are going ot stand there and point at Barry, simply on appearance, then yoiu might as well be pointing towards AROD, Clemens, etc. I'm a sox fan and I put Schilling on the list because he produces smoke in my mind as well....
Eseentially, I am broadly accusing the Majority, instead of Narrowly accusing a single personofied version. If Barry is proved to have done 'roids, then he joins the small group that have been proven. Until then he joins one of the many accused, no more or less.

I do understand, the difference in Baseball, the problem is that the players have the control. Maybe the Owners should have had a strike... But don't defend them like 'roids weren't knowingly part of the game.
My Babe Ruth smack, isn't even that. It was simply drawing a parrallel to current day. No it is not Babe's fault(individually) that BASEBALL made a decision to exclude blacks, nor is it Barry's fault(individually) that BASEBALL allwoed sports in the late 90's. In both cases it's BASEBALL's fault.
That's also my point, if you exclude the Babe's record, then you exclude all pre-integration records, jsut as if yoiu exclude Barry's record, you should exclude all records from the 90's and 00's... It's silly, why not just look at the records in their context?
Now, if he fails a test, or is proven to have taken performance enhancer's post '03, then I agree strike his name from every record book. Cheating is serious, but that wasn't what it was until '03.
