I was listening to Casey Willet on NST and he was saying "Gaither has really turned some heads today". While he was guarding Suggs he also said some coaches had their hands over their mouth like "he shouldn't be doing this".

I know it's just the first practice but it's great to hear about guys like Gaither, Antwaan Barnes who come on in camp.

My favorite part of preseason / camp is taking note and keying on the low round gems/free agents that are trying to make the squad.
I'm really looking forward to see some of these guys play.

Watching Gaither, Barnes Troy Smith in preseason should be a blast.

On another note I see Cody is injured again and if the scope doesn't work possible microfracture surgery? Personally I figured the guy would be injured sometime in camp or preseason and expected no contributions from him. If he has to go that route hopefully this microfracture surgery will finally make him able to get on the field and make some plays but I'll be convinced when I see it.

I said it over on the scout board.

Problem:
Young player with immense talent, but needs to be motivated to become successful.

Solution:
The Baltimore Ravens locker room.

(Update)
Casey Willet was on WNST just now and talked about how Gaither threw Suggs to the ground with one hand. Wow.

My favorite part about camp as well is seeing how the new guys play. It is exciting to hear about Gaither. I'm concerned he is a time bomb, but at least he can play.

Barnes is our replacement AD. We may go with a rotating trio of stop gaps this year, but Barnes is the longterm answer there.

Can't wait to hear how Troy Smith plays.

Oh and I read in a report (the Sun's?) that Suggs saw Freeney's contract but didn't expect to get that much. That's a relief. Also nice to hear Suggs looks jacked this year.

I think Gaither is going to be a total steal when it is all said and done.

Now that camp has started and news is starting to trickle out I can feel my post-season loss depression starting to fade.

Let's hope so. I'm cautiously optimistic, but being motivated for TC should be easy. When he has to practice endlessly in Oct-Dec - while never seeing the field on Sundays - that is when the real test of his motivation will be.

I'm cautiously optimistic as well, especially with all the reports on his incredible physical ability.

If he can get it together, it could be one of the biggest coup's on Ozzie's resume along with "too small" Ray Lewis and "Priest who?"

How many poets do you have to lose for it to be a full season? ;) Sorry couldn't resist. :grbac:

Good call. Listen to the Suggs interview on the Front Page. He says about Gaither - "I'm impressed....he totally shocked me. It just goes to show that Ozzie knows what he's doing....".

Good stuff.
