Who gives a shit what McNair's stats are. He came thru when it counted.
He's a warrior, even though he looked like total shit at times today, I would take him over Boller anyday.
3-0 BABY!! And Feelin' fine.
2-0 on the road WOW!!!

This offense is crap, and something needs to be done.
If not for defense and special teams we lose badly.

And to add, that must have been very painful for clown fan to experience,
the comeback, and the 52yd Stover kick edging oh so slowly over the uprights.
What was a gut wrenching experience early, turned into a pleasant surprise for us.

We would have lost this game for sure last year.
I'm sorry, but this score should have been much higher. For 33 million dollars we shouldn't be sitting here on the edge of our seats wondering if overthrowing the receiver on third and short wouldn't hurt Stover making a 50 yard field goal.
Let's not pretend this was an offensive specticle. We could easily have lost this game.
That said, I'll take 3-0. I'm just still not convinced we're going to hang with the Bengals. After watching Big Ben today I'm not afraid of the Steelers anymore.

I'm not going to live very long if they keep having games like that. My blood pressure is through the roof after watching that game!! UGH!!!
Still though, 3-0 baby!!!!

This offense sucks. The defense had to bail us out yet again, so excuse us if we want to complain about it.
McNair was supposed to move the chains. We couldn't move against the Browns, Raiders, or Bucs.

I didn't say it was. But McNair led us back. Key play the one where McNair got hit but completed to Clayton. Boller would have ducked and taken a sack, and Stover would have never gotten a chance. Thats the difference. And that my friend, is worth 33 mil.

Really? Kind of like the Texans game last year, or the Jets game the year before that?
Your hatred is showing through.

No doubt the O needs work, but uh, those are 2/3 of the game. A lot of teams would lose badly without them.

The offense is still the ugly, misshappen beast it has always been.It has no form,no identity,no flow.It needs to get it together to hang with the big NFL movers and shakers.Or the defense is going to blow a tire and we are going to see some nasty games down the road.

Our offense can stay on the field for one, maybe two drives a game. They are actually HURTING our defense and special teams.
Offenses really shouldn't do that. If you want a play-off run, then all three phases of the game have to carry their own weight. Right now that's not happening.

Well, I can only hope that because it's still early in the season, the offense still needs time to gel. Yeah, maybe a weak arguement, but there's always hope.

This system is flawed.

How about savoring the win? This team really should have lost this game.
Why don't you guys wait atleast until tommorrow to start complaining.

Cause all they want to do is bitch and complain. Go over to the Colts forums and read how they are happy after a hard win when they couldn't stop the run at all.
In fact I'm guessing you can go to all the other 3-0 teams boards and find a lot of happy people, not here though, they want to just go on and on about how this sucks or that sucks.

Hey Jon,
There's nothing wrong with complaining about the deficiencies of your team. We all sit here and watch this team week after week. A true fan doesn't just simply ignore the shortcomings and say "yay, it's a win!". I'm not saying that you aren't a true fan or anything. I'm just saying that there are a lot of things to discuss about this team. It definitely has issues, and if we are to compete against the more elite teams in this league, those issues need addressing by the coaching staff. That doesn't make me less of a fan, it's just taking in the whole picture.

So we should sit around singing folk songs and holding hands while the offense actually manages to go backwards more than half the time?
Not one of the three teams we've beaten have won a game so far this year. Wins are great, but until we stop floundering when we have the ball, the wins will stop coming.

We are all savouring this win,and having a serious, adult football conversation at the same time.
Great comeback win.On the road.
Whats wrong with expecting more from the offense.

I have to agree with him 2K6. And remember if JO isn't flagged for illegal man downfield last year, we DO win that game.
Anyway, the point is this offense has MUCH work to do. We have San Diego, Denver, and Carolina coming up.

What I want to know is, is it that the Browns get up for us and play to their talent levels, or do we routinely take the Browns lightly and play down to their level? The Browns have statistically one of the worst run D's in the NFL and our rush offense is far from week, yet I don't think we've had a 100 yard rusher against them since Jamal went for 205 on them in Cleveland three or four years ago.
Is it a matter of pride for the Browns? Is it us not taking them seriously? (can't believe it would be six games in a row) Or is it a question of our offensive scheme simply not working against their D?
StingerNLG

Apparently I missed it. We must have blown out the Cleveland Browns and we've got nothing to complain about. The offense must have been a well oiled machine.

Excellent questions, UK.
I would imagine it's a bit of both. The Browns have always seemed to play us tough after Jamal's big games against them

I do believe when the Clowns play the Ravens,it is their kind of tragic Superbowl they are playing. They never have a chance at getting to one,
so this is their 2nd best,to beat the Ravens.

UK,
I think you answered your own question with your last sentence. I think that's the biggest problem on this team when playing the Clowns. Although I have to say that for a good portion of this game, we were playing with our heads up our asses.

It's a problem we have against every team we face. If we don't run, we can't score.
And since nobody is willing to let us run on them...
Mostly though, the Browns really don't want to lose to us. You see it all the time when rivals are playing. Watch an Auburn/Alabama game sometime if you really want to see what I'm talking about.

I agree. I expected more also.
But I am also one of the guys who was so excited about winning it all in 2000, when some other people were complaining about the Offense all the way thru the season.
I don't care, as long as we win. Ugly, pretty, dominant, pathetic, I will take the win.
I will start worrying and complaining when we lose our first game.
This game wasn't gift wrapped to us by the refs, so in my opinion, this game was not an ugly win
Mac-9 is a warrior, no matter how you slice it.

Let's ease up on the coaching staff a little. Rememember Billick's quote a while back about, "Halftime adjustments are overated"?
Somebody damn sure made some today. The team won the second half, convincingly. They didn't even look like the same group.

Absolutely that's true darb but Auburn-Alabama works both way (and makes for the most awesome watching every November), I just don't think we ever bring that same intensity to the game the Browns do, I don't think we want to win against them as bad as they do against us.

It would explain the giant egg we lay against them every year.

The entire Superbowl year, people were complaining about the Offense. This is nothing different.
