Hi,

We're newbies to this board but my husband & I are definitely interested. We've made hotel reservations already, just so we'd have them.

BTW...heard the team will be staying at the Hyatt downtown Buffalo. Don't know how reliable that is. Anyone else heard anything?

Welcome to the board, newbie. :)

Mista T -- where do you plan on staying? Anyone know the proximity to Niagra Falls?

My boss is a Buffalo native and she's been giving me tips. The stadium is about 10-15 mins. outside of Buffalo but easily accessible. She's the one that recommended I stay at the Hyatt because that's where the visiting teams have stayed in the past. She said Niagara Falls is about 30-45 mins. away, but she recommends getting your passport and seeing it from the Canadian side. It's supposed to be prettier.

Welcome, Jessica. We look forward to tailgate partying with you & husband at Rich Sadium.

Your boss is right on. Niagara Falls, NY is a dump. Ever see the movie "Canadian Bacon", as John Candy escapes from Canada back to the motherland of the smokestacks of Niagara Falls? If not: rent the movie.

Doubtful that we'll be able to get a large block of tickets at SF. I would expect a lot fewer participants for SF than Buffalo, which is one hour cheap flight or a six+ hour drive. I'll give it a shot with the 49rs ticket office and open a another thread re 49rs game.

As to details on Buffalo: you can fill in the blanks. All we do here is post the opportunity to get tix together and tailgate party.

Mista T -- where do you plan on staying? Anyone know the proximity to Niagra Falls?

Ron: I can't plan that far in advance!:rolling: Most likely I would stay in Toronto (100 miles from Buffalo) or Niagara Falls (20 miles). Or -- I have friends who live in the Thousands Islands on St Lawrence River 100 feet from Canadian Shore - if they invite us, we may stay there.

"she recommends getting your passport and seeing it from the Canadian side"

Its a good idea to get your passport but as of right now you dont need it to drive or walk into or out of canada or mexico. (its only needed for air or boat travel right now) In 2008 you will need it to drive or walk. Just an FYI.

I'm new to this site. Will someone fill me in on how this works for the Buffalo trip. Does someone get a block of tickets and we buy from that person? Do we make all our own hotel and air reservations? When will we know about the tickets? Thanks for the info!

There are different ways to do it but this is how we do trips when organized on this board.

Somebody, usually Mista T, will reserve a block of tickets from the away team. Then if you are interested you call the number that is provided and reserve your tickets. That's about the extent of what is done for you. After that it is up to you to reserve the airplane and hotel, although we try to all stay in the same hotel. If enough people are interested than a block of hotel rooms can be reserved. 2 years ago in Jacksonville we all tailgated at a park in the morning and the whole thing was catered. We each paid something like $20 a piece. At the very least we will arrange to all meet somewhere.

You can go through WNST or one of the Ravens Roost or Nest to get everything included but the price will be a bit higher. But if you prefer this convenience than maybe the extra money is worth it. I generally don't go through those any other organizations as this board is "my peeps".

Yes & yes -- pretty much the way that wxKevin described it, although it varies by location.

If you are a seasoned traveler, or at least a risk taker, you can sometimes save $$$$ by making your own arrangements and hooking up with other message board members. I always save $$$, but I will fully admit to being a cheapskate when traveling: Southwest Ding fares, timeshare exchanges, below face value game tickets etc

If not, or for some cities where hotel deals or ticket availability make group deals more desirable, you should go with an organized group. One of our board sponsors is www.ravenstrips.com. They often put together a good & complete road trip package. In particular, if they can get group pricing in cities that have outrageous hotel ricing -- e.g. San Francisco or Seattle -- you may even be better off financially with an organized group.

Is there anything new as far as tickets?

Sorry - I'm "downy oshun fishin'" this week, with only dial-up connection. I'll check out opponent tickets situation next week & report back.

Update:

We need 15 commitments to get group tickets. Price would range from $42 upper high rows to $58 upper lower rows. (With Stub Hub, the prices for matching seats is 100% to 150% higher).

Although I swore I wouldn't be the middle man again, I'll handle the tickets one more time, for this game only. I would need to make a financial commitment by June 9th. Which means I would need $$$ in hand by that date -- I have been burned before, so no exceptions unless I tailgate party with you!

Please make a firm decision by NLT May 30th, which means: send me a check by that date. (No, I don't trust Pay Pal). PM me for the address. If we do not get the 15 minimum, I'll shred your check.

Who is definitely in? I'm good for two tickets.

I am down for this trip. Let me know where people plan on staying.

Thanks!

rayvens: Does being "down" mean that you are "up" for the trip? Just curious.

Hey,

Thanks for playing middle man. Put me and the hubby down for 2, but I'd prefer the lower rows. I get a little hedgey sitting waaaayy up high.  Let me know where to send the money.

BTW, we're at the Hyatt downtown. We're flying in on Friday morning and renting a car. We're definitely doing the falls and Toronto. Anybody up for some tailgating Sunday AM?

Several memebers had expressed interest in a group thingy, but there's been an underwhelming response since I established a firm schedule on a group ticket buy. Please check out:

If I haven't received responses (i.e. checks) to acquire the 15 minimum for group tickets by May 31st, we'll down the Buffalo trip.

Thanks!

With all of the great cities we play in this year (San Diego, San Fran, Miami), why go to Buffalo?

With all of the great cities we play in this year (San Diego, San Fran, Miami), why go to Buffalo?

San Diego: Thanksgiving

Miami: "been there, done that" a few times (and likely doing it again)

San Fran: yes -- our last visit until 2015-- but tickets are expensive & challenging

Buffalo: cheap & easy to obtain tickets. Driveable for those who don't want the $39, 45-minute flight. All away games aren't in the Sunbelt!

Do they offer groups in the lower level or only in the upper level? I will be going to the game but I will seat in the lower level only. If it's possible to get a group of 15 in the lower level count me in if not I will purchase through ebay or stubhub, etc...

A group of our people are taking a bus up. Apparently there is gambling to be had up there, and this is part of the attraction.

RM: I'll be doing both -- so if you go, let's hook up. However, I don't see the opportunity for San Fran or Seattle group tickets at or below face value -- as in Buffalo -- so, unless anyone else has contacts for group tickets at either stadium, we'll just address tailgating, air fares, etc. for SF and Seattle in the late Summer or Fall, in the Road Trips Forum.

There is at least one local organized group doing a full-service trip to SF: board sponsor www.ravenstrips.com. I haven't heard of any group doing a Seattle organized trip.

I am probably going to go to Buffalo but I can't commit this early. Sorry about that. I'm going through some issues at home and I can't be sure that I'll have the money or time to do it at this point. I do still plan on going so if you don't go through with the group buy please call me before you buy tix so we can sit together. You know how to reach me.

I can't travel til the fall so I'm saving up for the SF, SD and NO trips. Anyone going to those games?

Hope to hook up with some of yoos in those cities.

Trap, if I'm still around, I'll hook up with "yoos" for the next NO trip ...... scheduled for Autumn, 2014. (If the Saints are still playing in 7 years)

"Tad early" -- you are a bit confused :229031_confused2:

Training camp opens July 29th. The cut-off date for Bills group tickets is June 9th. There will be no Bills group ticket availability by the time of Ravens training camp. On the Bills official site survey, the Ravens game is voted the 2nd most popular, and the Bills ticket office predicts a sell-out. If you wait until TC to pay attention, you would likely be left with brokers' tickets at double to triple the cost.:grbac:

Capice? ;)

btw, as to why the focus on Buffalo in April/May: The Bills game will be only the 2nd time in 12 seasons that there will be a road trip available to Ravens fans who wants to sit together in face-value group tickets at a stadium that is within 1/2 day driving distance. The other being the Charlotte 2002 game. Every other East Coast away game has been at sold out stadia not offering group seats at face value. Many cannot afford flying, or fear flying, or cannot devote a weeknd trip, or don't want to spend broker's fees or go through group tour organizers, or don't want to sit in isolation.

I'd love to T, I have a 1 yr old and I just don't see it happening. I get a hard enough time w/the Sunday home games. I just love SF, I only spent a day in Seattle on business and flew to Vancouver. Just an absolutely beautiful view w/the mountains nearby. I hope you guys get a chance to spend some time in the city while you are there. I'm really envious of you.

Buffalo (Orchard Park) a great tailgate. Its in the middle of no where and does take a long time to get out of. Parking is around the stadium and in front yards. Niagara Falls Canada has the best gentlemen clubs ;)

Ted, my wife and I are going to SF to visit our daughter and see the game. I assume the 49er's don't do group tickets. E bay already has some games tickets listed is that the way to go?

Mista T

PD - the 49rs do sell group tickets, with a big catch. You must buy their "Premium" Group Tickets, which includes food and drink at their "Alumni Tailgate Party Pavilion". These get you lower end zone seats for $150.
