The same crew that murdered us in Detroit last year is killing the Skins tonight. I am happy to see it was not only the Ravens they hate.

I guess Tom Cruise was bad luck for the Skins.

Seriously, as if I couldn't hate that franchise enough, they manage to make it possible by having that dumbass in the owners box with Snyder.

After yesterday's win and tonight's Skins loss, it should be a great week. I know I'll be sleeping well tonight.

What's with Mike Carey? Whenever he makes his calls, he leads in by saying (as he did tonight), "BIG TIME face mask..." He needs to lay off the "big time" crap. Every game he officiates, he throws in that "big time plus whatever the call."

Maybe he is drawing attention to himself, but he better be careful. There should be a rule that the refs just make the calls without any added statements. If NFL receivers cannot draw attention to themselves with celebrations, then refs like Mike Carey should not be allowed to draw attention to himself with "big time" comments.

I didn't notice the "big time", but he's a big time_________ (fill in the blank)

I don't think he used the words "Big Time".

I think he describes it as a "Major Facemask" to indicate the penalty is of the 15 yard variety rather then the incidental type of 5 yards.

LOL, who would say Big Time facemask?

You are correct in that he said, "major." My error, but it still does not take away from my argument. There is no need for Carey to add extras. To say "major facemask" is almost as if Carey is trying to rub it in, or incite some response.

Refs should just make the calls and leave out the "majors" or "big time."

In the case of facemasks, there are, of course, two grades of facemask: the incidental 5-yarder, and using the dude's head as a pull-tab.

So, in that case at least, the adjective isn't gratuitous.

I just loved how my roomates...who are deadskins fans....cried all night about every penalty that came there way. GO RAVENS

In the NY times there was an article on how much variation in penalties there were by referee crew -- with the statistics by crew and team

http://www.nytimes.com/pages/sports/football/index.html -- look for the article called NFL Penalties on the Rise

By crew it ranged from 12 to 20 penalties a team

Carey was in the 17 range -- near the high end but not the most -- that would be Larry Nemmers, followed by your favorite ref bodybuilder Ed Hochuli

Only teams penalized more than the Ravens were the Cardinals and the Raiders

I couldn't agree with you more. I really, really, really can't stand Tom Cruise. The man is a lunatic. Just seeing him pisses me off

Daniel Snyder employs a whole bunch of BIG MEN. He just wanted to have one on the payroll shorter than him!

I think the crew at the Ravens v Bucs game was very good. Refs should not take over a game, but make sure it is played fairly. The fewer penalties the better. I think there were only about 10 penalties for the entire game on Sunday. I wish we could have that crew every week.

And as for Carey and his miserable crew :141847_smmackbottom

after further review there were only 7 penalties for our game on Sunday.

Why is it the networks all show Snyder on TV, few other owners get on TV and none get as much time as this little knob. I really don't need to see Napolean signaling incomplete passes or watch him and Cruise chatting. I don't give a shit, I am trying to watch football!

:iagree:

Made me so mad seeing that little squirt up there cheering like a goof and signalling incomplete pass. The guy has no class and does not conduct himself like a professional at all. I wish they'd have shown him after Hall shanked the game-tying field goal at the end.

Also, the alliance with Cruise is yet another reason to hate him.

I wonder if Tom is attempting to convert Snydbrenner to Scientology? Obviously, there are no height restrictions. :)

I agree, and I have wondered that myself.

And to see Tom Cruise there with him:eck15:

Well at least they lost. Snyder brings the bad karma on himself by acting like a self-important, small-dicked little jackass all the time. Remember as soon as the cameras had shown him whooping and hollering after the Slurs had gone 10-0 up on us back in '04, Ed forced that fumble and within about 10 minutes we were up 14-10? Hilariously the camera then showed him sinking into his chair with a definite bottom lip wobble.

What goes around comes around you little bastard!

I tried to find out if the league announces the officiating crews before time, but for perhaps obvious reasons it doesn't look like they do. I did find this info, which includes a little bio on our "Hero".

Yeah if the league did that they would be "marked" so to speak and fans would harass them and seek them out before the game.I honestly dont see what would be wrong with that but thats just me.

Her is an interesting quote on Carey.

Of all the active referees in the NFL, Carey has ejected the most players :grbac:

I disagree! I don't like Snyder at all, but there isn't anything wrong with him celebrating and BEING A FAN of his team. Hell, more owners should be like that. You think the players don't like seeing their owner excited when they make big plays? Having said that I could have done without seeing him and Cruise for half the game.

Anyway, one thing I noticed is that Sean Taylor (much like Roy Williams) is never going to be among the elite if he can't stop with the boneheaded penalties. He seems to be good for a 15 yarder at least once every game.

I agree, but I think in this particular case, it was ESPN wanting to constantly show us Tom Cruise, and Katie, and Jamie, and any other celebrity they could find. But the point remains the same -- WHO CARES? We're trying to watch a football game, we don't care who little Danny is entertaining.

So I guess that means the chances of the Deadskins winning the superbowl this year,is Mission Impossible.;)
