I love Monday Night Football but 9PM start is very late to watch entire game due to work the next day. How many site members would like to see it start at 8PM ?

That's fine for you east coast folks but it would suck big time for the west coast folks because they wouldn't be home from work when the game started.

Most definitely :rocking: It sucks at 9pm because I can't hang till 12:00 am because I have to get up at 5am:thumbdown:

I agree with AZ. Just got home from work and the 1st quarter is almost over.

That's because they started first game at 7 tonight. If it was eight you still have 7 minutes to get ready.

They have 2 Monday night games now. One starts at 7pm EST and the next one starts at 10:30pm EST for the west coast folks.

At least thats how it is tonight.

Outside of this special doubleheader to start the season, the MNF games will be starting at 8:30.

I like the 9pm start time because the kids are down for the night.

8 pm would be much better. I usually skip live MNF now because it ends so late.

I just don't watch the whole thing, unless the Ravens play of course. 8PM would be better, but think about those on the west coast.

it's not bad on central time, I don't mind it much.

Another two hours and that will be a bitch.

Can you imagine an easy coast game starting at 9:15 am on sunday if you're on pacfic time? ouch

Because, it's not all about you.

And yes, Sunday morning games that start at 9a.m. out here are a bitch.. I've barely pried my eyes open from Saturday night and I have to try to focus on 22 guys running in all directions. So see, the pain is evenly divided.

Since Denver is mountain time, this week I got to experience what the West Coasters would go through with your scenario. Today they probably didn't get home until halftime. 8:30 actually is perfect for Mountain time (6:30). Just enough time to have dinner before the game, then get the kids ready for bed at halftime, and the game is over before 10:00.

AZ, if you would just do daylight savings time you wouldn't have a problem! ;)

they had it at 8 a few seasons ago when they also tried out Boomer Esiason in the booth, it failed (weather that was the time change or Boomer I don't know) but I'm for 8 myself or even better like a college game 7:30...but it won't happen imho

I agree with the Central Time thing, I'm in CT by like 40 miles.

I was out in California a few years ago (in Santa Monica) and people there treated MNF like a Happy Hour thing, since it started at 6pm local time. I guess a 5pm start would mean most of those people still sitting in freeway jams.

Funny!! I posted this about a year ago on another board and basically got my head bit off. Amazing how a new perspective comes along.

My thoughts were to consider the west coast one year and the east coast the following year and alternate. We use some of our precious time to go in late one year, and they use some of their precious time to take off early one year. Or something along those lines.

Whatever. The westers have had the advantage for years. Time to pay attention to the East.

I personally LOVED the 7:00 thing!

I for one would love it if it started earlier, given that after October or so, we have a +3 hour difference in relation to the East Coast, so games end very very late

I would love for MNF to start at 8PM! It would make it easier to get to bed at a reasonable time. It sucks when you have to wake up really early to get ready for work the next day.

Sorry for being late to the party. I liked the 7:00pm start in the first week. The 8:30 start now on ESPN isn't that bad and it is the best of both worlds. Now if they could just lose the announcing team but that is for a different Thread and Post.

No I'm not but, I wish I was in a position to change the time. Many people told me if it started at 8 they would watch it more.

8 would be great, gives you the chance to be able to watch the whole game instead of just 3 quarters with having to go to bed for work the next morning
