It is becoming more and more clear that we ought to grab Joe Staley in the first round next April. It's the possibilities factor.
If we lose Pashos, Staley slides right in. Say we lose Pashos and J.O. retires, Terry starts on the left, and again Staley has the right side covered. (of course in that event, we have to obtain another tackle for backup) Tackles are a lot easier to put at guard than vice vera, so...
If J.O. stays another year or two and we re-sign Pashos, Staley could play guard on either side and either Chester or Brown would be the center. We'll still have Rimph, Flynn, and Mule for backups on the interior. Vincent - gone, I hope. Ozzie can't win em' all.
Having Staley onboard would eliminate a lot of bad scenarios from happening.
The other two guys I'm pimping this year are Lorenzo Booker, the speedy tailback from FSU, and Tim Shaw, linebacker from Penn State - who is a REAL sleeper and a potential stud.
Staley is the key though. Neither Blaylock, Sears, or Grubbs would provide the flexibility to solve problems that Staley does.
