If Rex gets offered the job and takes it do you think he would want AD to go with him?
If the above scenario happens wouldn't a tag and trade for AD to S.D. for Turner make a lot of sense. They would have one hell of a LB core.

That is actually the first plan this off-season that actually does make sense.
Yeah, that could work out just fine.

I would love to see Turner in a Ravens uniform.
Especially if it didn't cost any draft picks.

San Diego have Merriman and Shaun Phillips = No they wouldn't want AD.
In my opinion. Yes AD is better than Phillips, but Phillips is younger and comes at a lower cost. Nice idea and well thought out and could work in a different circumstance, but it's a no go-er for me.

Or AD could simply sign with the Chargers when he hits the open market in March.

If you sign AD it will cost you 7.2 mil. Then even if you trade him you still owe that against the cap. I don't think we have that kind of cap excess to give away. Am I right?

SD is not going to shake up the team much. Why should they? They have great, young talent.

If you trade him, the new team take on the cap hit.
We take no hit as long as he doesnt sign it.

Nevertheless both players, RFAs, would have to be signed/tagged *before* the trade, then signed by the new team *after* the trade.
It's an interesting idea for us to throw around sitting here, but not likely in today's NFL.

Another rumor that has been kicked around is that the Chiefs want to trade LJ.
I would trade him for AD in a heartbeat. Sure LJ has some character issues, but no legal problems, plus Ray and the boys could straighten him out.
Think about it, if you carried the ball 500 times in a season but your team has no D so you still lose, you would be disgruntled too.
Thoughts??

It just happened last year with Abraham going to Atlanta. Not with another player but a high pick.

Exactly,it would workout great but SD already has two good OLB's in Merriman and Phillips.

Maybe they would wan't to go away from the legal problems they began suffering through this year.

I didn't say never. 32 teams, all those RFA's, a deal like that happens how often?
As I said, it's not likely.

I agree. This scenario was presented on Bruce's Saturday show, and both Bruce and Aaron said a trade for Michael Turner is not an option. No need in discussing this further.

Why did they say it wasn't an option, and my point was contingent upon Ryan getting the job at S.D. do they know either way about him?

Don't want Larry Johnson. He's been overworked bigtime these past couple years. Expect him to suffer an injury sometime this coming season. His productivity will be shot.
