Hey Kevin, how bout some insight on what's coming Friday and Saturday. So far, I've been hearing about the potential of over 20 inches of snow, with a storm very similar to the December 19th storm.

The guy on 11 says it could be snow, then mixed sleet and rain, then back to snow, which would cut down on totals but be miserable anyway. I hope he is wrong. I'd rather just the snow if it will make Saturday and sunday a shut in period.

I think 20+ inches are the outside models, and apply more to our west from Frederickish to Cumberland. I think most models indicate that Baltimore is slightly east of the projected heaviest bands and we should be looking at about a foot of snow.

Weather forecast for this weekend for the Baltimore area:
Snow beginning late Friday morning, increasing in intensity as the day wears on. Snow heavy Friday night (1 inch per hour) and into Saturday morning. Storm will exit Saturday evening. On Saturday temperatures will fall and winds will increase. Snow accumulations in the Baltimore area will range from 24-30 inches. Some models predict record snowfall for the area.
Another major storm will hit the Mid-Atlantic next Tuesday into Wednesday.

Okay, I just read an updated national weather update that said 16 to 24 inches. Who is predicting 24 to 30?

I don't think they did. A few hours ago they were saying 16-24", now they're saying 18-24."
NWS just reported 24 inches but expect more.

I don't think that I have to convince you about what I read this morning on Yahoo.. However, here's another (http://www.weather.com/newscenter/stormwatch/):
Washington and Baltimore: Winter storm warning beginning Friday 10am ET
Snow begins Friday afternoon before rush hour and ends by Saturday evening
Northeast winds could gust to or over 35 mph Friday night and Saturday
Snow totals: 1 to 2 feet with some local areas possibly getting more

Unbelievable!
Fortunately, we've got 7 bedrooms, and only one visitor stranded by the storm en route to Orlando, so he'll have lots of choices. The more, the merrier! I hope he enjoys meatless meals.
Maybe he can pick up those Ravens-Patriots game programs I got him last Fall!

Any snow in Baltimore yet? It's coming down fairly hard now in the Annapolis area. No accumulation yet.
Updated (http://weather.yahoo.com/storm/USMD0112.html):
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST
SATURDAY.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...HEAVY SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS...WIDESPREAD STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 20 TO 30
INCHES...WITH SOME LOCATIONS IN EXCESS OF 30 INCHES.
Since we stocked up on Thursday, I didn't have to endure the free-for-all at the toilet paper shelves the local supermarkets. However, the line at the liquor store was pretty long, but worth the wait as we hunker down for the next 4/5 days.

It's snowing in Sykesville but very light and not laying on the ground. I'm stocked up with beer for the weekend. Who needs toilet paper. How do you think the caveman did it.

It's snowing in Canton, not very hard yet. Not sticking to the ground yet. It feels like its about 40 degrees outside.
I just got back from the liquor store, got a huge bottle of wine for my wife, and restocked my Jameson's supply. Plus living in Canton when I get stir crazy I know Mahaffey's will be open so I will probably be there tomorrow night.
I was able to work from home today, and probably will be able to do it again on Monday. I am loving this!

Went out at ten and cleared the driveway of about 8 inches of real heavy snow. Ran the blower for an hour. It is real heavy stuff. This storm will test some roof systems.
