View Full Version : Interesting Poll

I recently saw a poll asking, "What would be the best venue for the Super Bowl in 2012?"
My first thought was M&T Bank Stadium, but it is getting killed in the polls. Even Sports Illustrated ranked it as one of the best stadiums in the NFL. I may be biased so I was interested to hear what other people thought.
If you want to see the poll or cast your vote you can find it at:

The poll is idiotic. :grbac: These are all cold weather stadia without domes; therefore, none of them would be eligible to host a Super Bowl. No wonder: it's a teenager site. Can't expect them to understand how the NFL works.

Why in God's name would anyone think Heinz Field would be a good place for a Super Bowl? After October, that field is abysmal, at best.
In this day and age, there's no reason for a stadium's field to look that horrendous.
I agree with Mr T. It's a teen site. Consider the source.

Warm weather venues will always have the upper hand in February.

I know the NFL is against the whole "cold weather" stadium thing for Festivus Maximus, but I'd like to see a Super Bowl at M&T, even though you'd freeze your nips off.
Global warming needs to speed it up so we can get a Super Bowl here soon. :261695:

Let's vote for Green Bay or Gilette just to screw with them.

For what it's worth..I feel like the Super Bowl should be rotated between all cities in the NFL, like the MLB All-star game. Every city and it's community should be able to reap the financial benefits, not the same cities every year. If they don't want football to be played in the cold or snow (god forbid) then make it a summer sport. IMHO it would be very cool to watch the Super Bowl played in the snow. I guess no one would show up or watch if it was played in Green Bay in February.

I agree, although they would probably have to make a list of 3 cities each year, just in case the other 2 cities have teams playing in the Super Bowl, just so neither team gets "home field advantage".
Maybe then the stands would be filled with real football fans, and not the wine and cheese crowd who are only there to "be seen".
Of course, I'm not sure how the logistics of only having a 2-week window to get ready for the Super Bowl would work out.

I have to agree...when the Colts last won the SB, in Miami also, it was a rainy game and I think that was nice to see, having a SB game played in bad weather where it becomes a factor (I think there were quite a few fumbles in that game)

i think Goodell should move the Super Bowl to London (Engaland) to fix the problem of one team losing a home game when they have to play in London.

On another cold note, what ice cream was your favorite as a kid?
Mine would have to have been:

Excellent choice, T...
Occassionally the Good Humor truck sold out of Strawberry Shortcakes before he made it to my block, so I would go the chocolate route and divour one of these:

I'll second the Chocolate Eclair bar.
Could you imagine them having the Superbowl here this weekend if in fact they ever did decide to rotate it around?
It would be a freakin' joke with the weather we have coming in.
You ever drive around downtown after a big ass storm like what's coming?
The city will be virtual gridlock at the end of this storm which would basically fall on the day of the Superbowl.
Pack in thousands of extra people, trucks and whatever else gets brought in and you would have a major nightmare downtown.
I wouldn't count on a Superbowl coming here anytime real soon.

Anytime soon? Try never. Ever. Even in the unlikely event that the MSA were to place a roof over the stadium, no SB will ever be held in Charm City.
NYC, Philly, DC would all get cracks at the SB first, if they were to add domes. We would stand in line behind them as the East Coast cold weather token.

I wouldn't want it here simply for the fact that I'd want to travel to a warm weather city as a built in SuperBowl vacation!
But let's not forget the almighty PUSH-UP POP!

Oh definitely the Klondike bar belongs in my Top 10!
Of course, thinking back to my childhood, the summers in the 1970s in Ocean City, nothing could beat the Mister Softee truck. I can still hear that jingle playing. (http://www.mistersoftee.com/) And the best thing they had was the Malted Milk Shake!! Haven't had one that even comes close to Mister Softee's since.

Oh man I used to love the chocolate-vanilla swirl Mr. Softee cones on a hot summer day! Had to be quick though before they melted in like 5 minutes or less.
Somehow I remember a lot of brainfreezes involved with eating those things...:179421: and yes, that jingle was legendary. My ears were trained to hear it from at least 3 city blocks away! I also remember that most of the Mr. Softee truck drivers in my neighborhood seemed to be of Arabic descent... Were ice-cream berzerk American kids directly responsible for funding Al Qaeda?

"Yes, can I have 1 chocolate-vanilla swirl?"
"A-la-la-la-la-la!!! You buy 2 cone, you get bomb half price! You buy! you buy!"
