I am 40 years old. I have watched thousands of pro and college games. And I have NEVER seen a DT called for holding. That took some creative ass-fucking by the refs to come up with that bullshit.

Made sense on the replay - Ngata was double teamed and held onto the guy blocking him from Ngata's left. Doing so allowed JJ to slide up the middle unblocked.

I've seen defensive holding called before on defensive linemen. However, only when they grab hold of the offensive lineman's jersey and dragging them to the ground.

What Ngata did is a lot less obvious than what we've seen done to Pryce every play so far this season.

Nobody blitzes on third and a mile. You let them complete the underneath stuff and swallow up the receiver. Odds are better of the offense completing a short pass and breaking a tackle than completing one of 20+. Defense just makes sure they have enough people to secure the tackle.
