Yes it does, if the refs hadn't pushed this diving, and crying Penguins team undeservedly into the finals.

Spread your Shitsburgh crap elsewhere.

It's amazing to me how any true Baltimore sports fan could associate with ANY team from Pittsburgh. I know Bmore has no hockey team and the Skipjacks and Clippers were Penguins affiliates for a while, but those same Pens fans you're rooting with DESPISE your Ravens and, sometimes, Orioles.

To each his/her own, but if you are a fan of BALTIMORE then I find it difficult to root for anything associated with Pitt.

Obviously understandable, but it's the way I grew up. The Colts moved out early in my life, which meant I didn't grow up with a HUGE Pittsburgh rivalry. I grew up in central PA though, and that was Penguins territory. No Baltimore team to root for, it's simply the way it turned out. I've been a Pens fan since I was about ten years old...it's not likely to change any time soon.

I'm fine rooting with those same fans that DESPISE my Ravens. They're rooting with this fan that DESPISES their Steelers. None of them seem to mind me doing so, and no one's called me out saying "You're a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, how the hell can you root for the Ravens." Some of you guys that want to deride Pitt fans as classless should think about that first (not you riprulz, you're not doing that)...

FWIW, I originally brought this topic up cause it's game 7 for the Cup. Regardless of the Pens in it or not, it's the most exciting thing in sports and it's not close. And nowhere in my OP did I mention the Pens...

A Yinzer is a Yinzer. I'd rather not be around them lest I get smacked with one of their waving towels.

Made me sick enough seeing them celebrating a Super Bowl victory this year. That city really doesn't need another championship for awhile.

It's cool PSU - I know you didn't mention the Pens but I knew you were a Pens fan from your previous posts on this board (correct me if I'm wrong).

I agree, though, game sevens are INSANE. I am only a casual hockey fan, but can't help watching the Stanley Cup Finals each year.

I only care for hockey when I'm there live and I haven't watched one game of the entire playoffs, but I'll probably watch this game 7 just because of the historic implications.

Although I'll be rooting for the Red Wings simply because I dislike any Pissburgh team and I think the city of Detroit could use a boost after a the 0-16 Lions season and the mayoral scandal.

Yeah, I know you didn't, no sweat. That particular comment was directed at pyite...

I've got date night with my wife set up as our day care is babysitting all the kids till 9 PM. I actually had my dates screwed up and agreed we'd go out thinking game 7 would be Thursday. So that sorta sucked, but fortunately I have TiVo so I'll just be behind. Gonna be a late night on Friday...

Go Wings...and OT would be awesome

It would be out of this world. The Cup is the toughest team award in sports. Four best of seven series. The Pens have played I think 23 games and I think Det has played 24 games, plus one at the end of Friday. And imagine that in OT, all of that comes down to essentially one shot.

I love this stuff.

Know you guys hated the outcome, but I hope you watched. Incredible way to cap an incredible series. It literally came down to the last second, cause that rebound was an empty netter that would have gone in with 1 second left had Fleury not made an INCREDIBLE save.

Such a thrilling game. The first period was some of the most awesome hockey I've ever seen...

Hockey now gone ....

Hoops will be done in the next week ....

Thus begins the darkest time of the year for football fans.

Much like methadone helps a heroin addict, hockey and hoops were getting me by until September.

Except for hoops. I literally couldn't care less about basketball.

Great. Now all the clowns from "Sixburgh" won't shut up about their latest championship. Already hearing it from the Yinzers.

Well, at least there's no hope of their sorry baseball team completing the championship hat trick.
