oher and his agent are still working on a contract, but we can put all the signings in here...

thinking about oher's contract, i looked up the following:

#23 Overall:

2008 #23 overall -- Rashard Mendenhall -- 5 year, 9.855M
2007 #23 overall -- Dwayne Bowe -- 5 year, 9M

OT Around #23 Overall:

2008 #21 overall -- Sam Baker -- 5 year, 13M
2008 #26 overall -- Duane Brown -- 5 year, 9.1M

2007 #28 overall -- Joe Staley -- 5 year, 8M
2007 #5 overall -- Levi Brown -- 6 year, 37.47M (OT before Staley taken)

so, we can expect that as an OT oher will get more than mendenhall and bowe from the last few years. i think we can expect a 5 year deal in the neighborhood of 11M, which could be a huge value a couple years down the road with him being potentially dominant. a few things that could keep his cost down would be him playing at RT and the economy being what it is, but him starting right away and being a top-10 talent could push the number closer to 12M. just my thoughts on his contract.

Position doesn't really matter at that slot in the first round,it might matter if you have a QB in the top 10 but there aren't any premiums placed on the OT position relatively speaking that far down in the first round.

He will get a slight upgrade over what the 23rd overall pick got last year.

i would be happy with a 5 year 10MM-11MM deal, or a 6 year 12MM-13MM. that works nicely... then we can turn our attention over to Gaither and have our tackles set for the next 6 years!!
