Just wondering how many first round picks we have on our roster.
Not really thinking about our own picks as much as who we have added.
Willis was a first rounder, as was Fabian, as was Pryce...
Any others we've added?
I think LJ Smith was a second.

As far as I can think, the following players are 1st round picks who currently play for the Ravens
Joe Flacco
Willis McGahee
Ben Grubbs
Willie Anderson
Todd Heap
Mark Clayton
Haloti Ngata
Trevor Pryce
Ray Lewis
Terrell Suggs
Ed Reed
Fabian Washington
And I believe that's it, as we've said our goodbyes to Chris McCallister, Kyle Boller, and Jon Ogden.

Willie, thats who I was forgetting.
Was thinking along the lines of first round "busts" who aren't really true busts, just didn't live up to the expectation and so were let go, but still had decent careers. We let Travis go and he had servicable time elsewhere.
So tried to see who I could come up with that we have/had who were another's first. McNair, Sam Adams, Vinny, Harbaugh, Dion
Not Qadrey (second) or Woodson (third) or Sharpe/McCrary (7th)
Anyone know of others?

Was Duane Starks a 1st? Yes he was...add him to the list of busts...he played well while he was here with us, but then dropped off big time.
Our own 1st rounders were JO, Ray, Boulware, Starks, McAlister, Jamal Lewis, Travis Taylor, Heap, Reed, Suggs, KB, Clayton, Ngata, Grubbs, and Flacco.
I wouldn't call Travis' time elsewhere as serviceable...guy was a straight up bust, especially for being a top 10 pick. Jamal Lewis might fall into your category, since he's still doing ok, and he had a huge career here.
If you start getting into any 1st round pick we've ever had, gets more difficult. There's guys on that list like Dale Carter, Tom Knight, Leon Searcy...you could spend a whole day working on that list, and many will be guys who you will say "who's that? he was on our roster? and he was a 1st rounder?"

Starks started and picked off a pass in the SB win. Then he left as a free agent for huge money and we got a comp pick. He hardly was a bust.
When your biggest "busts" are Boller and Taylor, who while not as good as advertised can play and will play long after they leave the Ravens, you are drafting right. Most teams biggest first round busts are not even in the NFL after 3 or 4 years.

Woodson was a 1st rounder - the 10th overall pick in 1987.
The 2000 D had 6 1st rounders - Adams, Ray, Boulware, CMac, Starks and Woodson.

I agree with Jeremiah on this one. Starks was not a bust. He was a starter here and was instrumental in winning a super bowl. A bust to me is a guy that can never become a starter. I think maybe we have higher standards for first round picks because in Bmore they usually turn into pro bowlers. If they were productive starters in Bmore I have a hard time calling them a bust. If they go somewhere else in search of money and fail it does not make them a bust.

LOL, don't I know it... did some research and realized it was nuts, so thought I'd ask to see who knew anything. Carter, Knight, Searcy noted, thanks.
Didn't want to go off on a "busts" tangent, but with what has been added, I think what Jeremiah added should be the standard. Anyone who plays in the league, and is able to go elsewhere for big bucks, can't qualify as a bust.
Maybe a major disappointment for what was expected. Taylor and Starks don't come close to Ryan Leaf, Mandarich, Schuler.
Do we include busts for injuries like Ki-Jana or for idiots like Philips?
