our list of FA's after this season:

QB Troy Smith RFA
RB Le'Ron McClain RFA
WR Yamon Figurs RFA
WR Derrick Mason UFA
TE L.J. Smith UFA
OT Jared Gaither RFA
OT Adam Terry UFA
OL Marshal Yanda RFA
DL Justin Bannan UFA
LB Antwan Barnes RFA
LB Prescott Burgess RFA

this is not nearly as bad as this season, and a lot of the key guys are RFA's. getting L-Train, Gaither, and Yanda locked up are my big concerns but we should have a pretty decent off season. couple this with the fact that we will no longer be carrying 15M in dead money, we should be able to make a splash and get a WR that may be available. with that said, here is the list of good WR's that are slated to be out there next season

Braylon Edwards
Brandon Marshall
Terrell Owens
Greg Jennings
Roddy White
Larry Fitzgerald (I don't think this is right, but the site I'm looking at has him listed)
Kevin Walter- not great, but has big play potential
Devin Hester- getting desperate now, but he is at least serviceable
Domenik Hixon
Jason Avant
Hines Ward
Chris Chambers
Vincent Jackson

now, i know a lot of those guys will be signed (probably before next season begins) but that is a lengthy list that we would probably have a shot at dipping into next season. i also wanted to point out the off season the stoolers have coming for them. check this out:

RB Willie Parker UFA
WR Hines Ward UFA
TE Heath Miller UFA
TE Matt Spaeth RFA
PK Jeff Reed UFA
P Daniel Sepulveda RFA
C Justin Hartwig UFA
OL Darnell Stapleton RFA
DL Casey Hampton UFA
DL Brett Keisel UFA
LB Larry Foote UFA
LB James Harrison UFA
CB William Gay RFA
CB Deshea Townsend UFA
SS Tyrone Carter UFA
FS Ryan Clark UFA

holy hell, that is A LOT of their starters going into contract years. with their secondary already taking a hit this past year, they could be looking bad in the future. i know they will likely sign many of these guys at some point, but they do not like to overpay and a good deal of them could be hitting the market...

Remeber RFA's are not free, and the 2010 uncapped year could mean a reduction to this list as many of these players have less than 6 years of service time accrued.:kissass:

that will mean less ravens on there and almost the same amount of stoolers. all of those WR's are UFA's. i made this thread to show that we had a rough year this time around in free agency, but we shouldn't for the next two years. the stoolers, on the other hand, look to have a lot of holes to fill unless they start to pony up some money for their players. also, i wanted to show that there are alot of solid WR's eligible as of right now.

It's not worth looking at a list until it is decided whether it will be capped or not.

The real WR list isn't nearly as good as your indicates...

Braylon Edwards - less than 6 yrs, not FA
Brandon Marshall - less than 6 yrs
Terrell Owens - old, problem, rental player
Greg Jennings - less than 6 yrs
Roddy White - less than 6 yrs
Larry Fitzgerald - you're right, he's locked through 2011
Kevin Walter
Devin Hester
Domenik Hixon
Jason Avant - less than four years? Certainly less than six...
Hines Ward - old, not long term solution
Chris Chambers
Vincent Jackson

So Owens, Walter, Hester, Hixon, Ward, Chambers, and Jackson. Unimpressive...

yeah, but cam brought in jackson and chambers to his offense, so i could definitely see him fitting in here with the opportunity. and i can't agree with your thought of how the CBA will definitely not in place, and you're writing all over the boards here saying it as if it is a fact. which it clearly is not. i just put this up here because it made me more comfortable having our free agency periods than next few years than stoolers fans should be and to stop people from talking about bringing in holt when there will likely be better, younger guys out there soon.

It's not a lock, but Don Banks isn't wrong a whole lot, and owners are treating it like de facto it's gonna happen. I'd love it if a new one's in place, but my bet is it won't be, and we can't approach this season as if 2010 will be just like 2009.

Reality is that even if a deal goes into place, there won't be any guarantees it's a capped year anyway. Very possible it's uncapped with the same rules stretching several years beyond 2010...
