Kudos to the Ravens for landing a game between these 2 well-know English Premier League teams. I think tickets will sell very well for this event.

Now...I am a little ticked that it seems to me there was a very piss-poor job of communications to us PSL owners. Tickets go onsale today to the general public around noon but they would allow use to get tickets before then. However...they just emailed that out this morning...a whopping 3 hours before the public can get them. Other events we get plenty of notice. To get this all set up with TicketMaster (I hate them) would make you think they knew about this at least a few days ago.

I would have been happy with even a 2 day notice...just enough time to get a plan together on how many tickets I wanted. Luckily went I was able to make a quick decision and get some.

Erm...Milan is an Italian team, not English :P

A great match-up nonetheless

I got mine for the $40 price....50 yd line 7 rows from the bottom. Should be a good view.

I'm buying those too, 75 bucks to lower level midfield is a little steep, and I like the view from the upper deck better anyway.

edit: wow, $36 convenience fee?! what the f is that?

I'm definitely going - anyone have any indication of whether or not the big named players like Drogba, Ballack, Czech, Ronaldinho, etc. will be there?

Folks - the MLS is such a poor representation of what soccer is supposed to be. I hope any of you that haven't given soccer a full chance based on what you've seen first hand take the opportunity to see the best in the world show us how it's done.

These are two of the premier international club teams. With or without their stars, this is what soccer is supposed to look like.

Major coup by whoever was responsible for booking this event. AWESOME! This will give people in our area a chance to see the "beautiful game" at it's finest.

That's the fee that you pay Ticketmaster so they can conveniently stick it you-know-where.

Ain't that the truth...

I'm excited to go, I've never seen players of this level in person. Hell it can't be any worse than an Orioles game, hopefully people cheer.

I'm English and watch the Premier League every week (I support the deeply in-the-shit Newcastle United) and I'm not sure I want to attend this.

It's nice that Baltimore is going to get to see some world famous players and I imagine most of those named above will get a run out, but it's still like going to see a Ravens pre-season game. The players will have had the summer off so will likely not be at full sharpness and on a personal level, I don't like Chelsea.

Having said that, if enough people go it could make for a good day out, particularly if there's some tailgating beforehand.

Oh, and Chelsea's goalkeeper is called Peter Cech (pronounced 'check'), but is a different person to ex Ravens kicker, Peter Czech.

Here Here!

I saw AC Milan vs. Barcelona when they came to RFK for an exhibition about 5years ago. Most of the starters did play the whole game, and they played well. There wasn't quite the same intensity as a game that counts, and most the fans didn't have any real allegience to either team. But I'd still recommend it to any soccer fan. Seeing Seedorf juggle while warming up was worth the price of admission to me.

I have eight tickets and a gaggle of parking passes in Lot H. If anyone is going and would like to join us for some tailgating, let me know.

Newcastle eh? I'm a Birmingham City fan for my sins.

Speaking of soccer, a week from today I'll be at my first Scotland game in about four years, I Can't Wait!!!

This is a part of a six team round robin with only one winner, so they are playing to win. The Milan chief said all the stars will play, and for most of the game. They are also putting a grass field on top of the field turf. I got 6 in clubs, very excited.

Soccer? I'd rather watch paint dry.

Once in a lifetime experience, I got 4 of the VIP passes. 2 Hour hospitality tent and 11 rows from the field. Practice the night before too. This is real soccer, you ha ve to go to Europe or South America for this, it isn't supposed to come to Baltimore.

I can't wait, but then I am a huge soccer fan and a season ticket holder for DC United. In fact, I'm getting ready now to head to RFK to begin tailgating for the DCU season home opener. Having the opportunity to see two world-renowned sides playing in Baltimore is fantastic. I definitely hope that this is a sign of things to come.

My eight tickets are at midfield in the club level (section 200). I have three parking passes in Lot H. If anyone wants to come by and tailgate with us, please let me know.

From an Englishman do us a favour give Chelsea Hell, arrogant players, nasty arrogant fans, all in all a lovely bunch you like to see lose.

But they do have some fantastic footballers so enjoy the experience.

I am a Crystal Palace fan and I believe we are linked/own an American team that actually plays in Baltimore?

Yes, that would be Crystal Palace FC USA which plays in UMBC Stadium in Baltimore. They also play in the Navy and Marine Corp Memorial Statium in Annapolis several times a year. Their web site is here:

http://www.crystalpalaceusa.com/

They play in the USL2 division which is the third division in US soccer behind MLS and USL1.
