WR Barden runs well during his pro day workout

Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo was originally scheduled to run its pro day earlier this week, but decided to move it back and combine it with San Jose State’s pro day on Friday.

The headliner for Cal Poly was WR Ramses Barden. The lanky wideout (6-6 1/4, 227 pounds) ran the 40 in 4.51 and 4.55 seconds and had a 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump and a 7.10 three-cone drill.

Barden caught the ball very well, with his college quarterback Jonathan Dally throwing passes to him.

(Note: For more about Barden, check out Thomas George’s profile.)

the guy ran a 4.51!!! 6'6, 227 i would use a 3rd round pick on this kid. he could be an EXCELLENT red zone threat as a rookie and could make a push to be a full time starter. Ozzie has shown he isn't afraid of the small school kids, as long as they can play. i think this kid can play... check out some of his highlights...

we would probably have to take him in the second if we want him, no way he'd be around when we pick in the 3rd.

I feel confidant he'd be better then Clarence Moore, but how much? Vincent Jackson would be fine. Plaxico Burress is probably unreachable.

He scares me with the Clarence Moore build. Does he have that slow build up speed and how about his route running, would his legs telegraph were his route is going? Can this guy get to the ground for a low thrown ball? I saw his highlights and I was like eh. Not a fan of this guy so far at all, but maybe because I keep thinking of Moore those years back. Maybe he should bulk up to TE b/c I just think he maybe a one trick poney in the NFL, but then again he may not have alligator arms like Moore did.
