Hey Tony,

What kind of access does the media get to the Ravens offseason workout program? It would be great to find out what kind of shape some guys are getting in that we could really use next year; are they injury free/what is their injury status, etc. Or, if they are even in town for the volunteer workouts.

I am thinking of:

On IR by the end of the season
========================
Demetrius Williams
Kelly Gregg
Prescott Burgess
Dawan Landry
Quinn Sypniewski
Marshal Yanda
Tavares Gooden
Dwan Edwards

Played but were hobbled by nagging injuries
================================
Todd Heap
Adam Terry
Derrick Mason
Ray Rice
Willis McGahee (and IMHO all his problems started with a bad offseason last year!)

Needs to be in his best shape due to age
===============================
Trevor Pryce
Ray Lewis
Willie Anderson

IMHO the shape of this list coming out of spriing could be more important than our draft or free agent signings!

Thanks...

according to everyone's favorite adams apple (Ms Marks) Willis had a bone spur in his foot which has been operated on. He also said he is commited to all offseason OTAs. Frpm reports I remember Quinn Sypnewski could have played in the final playoff games as could have Gooden if not on IR.

Quinn is a real beast, I really hope he does good this year.

Yeah a lot of times the guys IRed, especially early in the year, are fine by the end of the season, the team decides not to carry them for a long time injured on the roster, or they are marginal anyway and they can keep them and add someone else at the same time. That's why I listed some of the guys on the IR list that I did, I fully expect they are healthy and going hard. You neve rknow though, some funny injuries can linger.

I would love to know how all the players are health-wise right now. It also seems like for at least the last 3 years we were not very healthy GOIN IN TO mini-camps and training camp. Some of that is age and chronic injuries (CMac, Rolle, Wilcox), which they have been addressing this year.

I hope this year is different going into training camp, health-wise.

Great idea...I will use this as part of our focus on the next round of Q&A with Aaron Wilson.
