The big news in the NFL is the possibility of Jay Cutler forcing a trade. Reports have the Bucs, Jets, and Browns interested. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Browns made this move. One, they obviously need a QB. Neither Quinn nor Anderson were Mangini's pick to be QB. Two, Mangini comes from that Bill Bilicheck (sp?) mold of making agressive moves to improve his team. Three, they have two QBs now whom they could package in the trade. Think about a first rounder and Quinn for Cutler.
I really hope that the Jets or the Bucs step up and make the trade. Cutler is an excellent QB who can obviously play in the cold weather. I know he makes a lot of mistakes, but he is definitely one of the better QBs. If he were to play for the Browns, the Ravens would have their hands full at least twice a year.
Consider this too:
If the Browns did acquire Cutler, the AFC North would have the best QB division in the NFL, bar none: Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Ben Reorihaorith8raberger (I intentionally try to mess up his name as much as possible), and Jay Cutler. It would be the best QB division for many years, as each of these gentlemen are a decent amount under 30 years old, with only Palmer pushing 30.
Because it would be the best QB division, it most likely would be the best division in the NFL for many years to come. I know the Bungals and the Browns have proven to be sorry franchises, but with a good QBs even those two franchises will most likely contend for the division occassionally. That's what great QBs like Palmer and Cutler do.
Hopefully, the Broncos want Cutler in the NFC and they trade Cutler to the Bucs.

Cutler is way too up and down to be considered good. We love QBs like him because he creates way to many turnover opportunities. I picture him like a Tony Romo.. He'll make a great play and then make a stupid one...

While you never like to see a good QB in your division Cutler is the type of QB the Raven Defense loves to see. He is the type of QB that when pressured tries to force the play. The Browns also do not have a very good Oline so he will more than likely get pummeled in his first couple of years. Also losing Winslow would give him one less weapon and there is a good chance he wont have Donte "Bentley" Stallworth either.

Cutler has a losing record with the Broncos, a team that is better than the Browns. While he is probably an upgrade they have too many other needs for him to make them good. I doubt the Browns make this trade, but that's just me.

Why are the Brownies so quick to dump Quinn? I thought he did a pretty good job last year in the limited action he saw before he got hurt.

Quinn looked okay, but if Cutler is available, I think Cutler would trump Quinn if you wanted to right the ship quickly. Quinn may not end up panning out, which could set back their rebuilding for some time. Cutler would be a quick fix and probably will be a good QB for years to come. Also, this would allow them to send Quinn elsewhere for a decent draft pick, although I think his value is lower that it would've been a year ago...right now I'm thinking someone could get him for a 4th or 5th rounder, since not many teams really want to take on the salary of a top draft pick QB.

I would much rather face Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson than Jay Cutler. And while the Browns are a mess now, they could easily get it together in a couple of years. If they had Cutler, they would be a much improved team.
I know that Cutler takes risks, but QBs who make many dumb mistakes have also made it to the Super Bowl and won it. I'm sure he'll blow it a few times in the playoffs all by himself regardless of where he ends up, but I could see him taking a team deep in the playoffs.
I know I'll get killed for this, but I think Cutler is a better QB than Roeihaoidhbaoih7boiberger, who benefits greatly from the other 51 players on the active roster.

actually, the deal could be Cutler for Brady Quinn/DA and a low draft pick. The QB depth behind Cutler is...anyone even know? Unless Josh McDaniels has eyes for a QB in Round 1 or 2 that he thinks could be ready right now, they won't trade Cutler without some plan for the QB this year, and I doubt any of those plans involve current FAs.

If I were the Browns and could get Cutler for DA/Quinn and a pick later in the draft, I'd make the trade in a heart beat. I wouldn't even think about it. Cutler is a good QB who was drafted with the 11th (i believe) pick of the 2006 draft. Getting Cutler for Quinn/DA and late draft pick is great for the Browns.
Here's hoping the trade never happens, but if it does, the Browns are forced to give up a first round pick and much more in the deal.

the only drawback I can see is Cutler wants a new deal too, and he's probably looking for some pretty nice money, considering he's a Pro Bowl QB. So this would definitley be the move that defines the Mangini/Kokinis era, give how much money they're going to have to give him and what they'd be giving up for him. Also, I have to be a little concerned about a QB that pouts and throws a tantrum the moment he heard his name mentioned in trade talks.
That said, I think the move would represent an upgrade for the Browns.

Even if Denver trades Cutler, they did sign Chris Simms as a FA this offseason. From all of the reports I've read ans seen, looks like they would give Simms a look as the starter if the let Cutler go. This is just my .02 as well as my first post on the board.

There's no denying that Cutler would be an upgrade, but the fact of the matter is, a QB is only as good as his supporting cast, in the end.
That Texans team ruined Carr, who IMHO, would have been a perrenial Pro Bowler on a team with a better O-line and a couple of decent receiving options.

I agree that if the Browns got Cutler--a possibility that is little more than speculation at this point--Cutler would want a new pricey deal. Acquiring Cutler would also define the Mangini-Kokinis era. I also agree that Cutler is way too pouty and is highly mistake-prone.
With all that said, he's still a good to great QB who could steal a game or two from the Ravens a year that I doubt Quinn/DA could. It's something to be concerned about as a Ravens fan.
However, I'm getting too far ahead of things. There's a great chance Cutler remains a Bronco or that another team comes in with an incredible offer.
