Any opinions on this... I think Its a great idea, :word as long as it doesn't wind up as a XFL type of thing. :insane: There were talks that
http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/p/plotting.gif It could wind up being a minor league system for the NFL.. I personally think that would be great.

I think it's a great idea too. A lot of players have talent but never get the chance in the pedigree driven NFL. A minor league type system would really help the sport.

Really it would be great as a minor league system. That's the only way it will ever survive, with the funding of the NFL club associated to back it up. As a stand alone league it will fail like all the others.

Minor league baseball would fail if it didn't have the money of the MLB clubs to back it up, they just don't sell enough seats and merchandise to pay for all the players. This will be the same way.

Anyone else see in the paper yesterday that Fassel is coaching in this league?

yeah, Fassel, Dennis Green and Jim Haslet are all coaches. and they want to bring in Michael Vick to play QB for one of the teams. this could be real exciting... if nothing else its something to watch on Thursday nights...

i wouldn't mind seeing Vick run around again either!!!

The four cities in the league are New York, Las Vegas, Orlando and San Francisco. There will be two games played in Hartford and Los Angeles. Versus will televise a game of the week every Thursday up to the Championship game on Thanksgiving. I just hope the quality of play is not like the XFL.

Fassel and Green are both good coaches. The UFL seems to be on the right path. I think they'll be fine as long as they don't try to tackle the NFL head-on. I also pictured that with the NFL-Europe ending that some other kind of league would be coming up soon.

The twist in all this is that Vegas gets a franchise.
I suspect the NFL will be watching very closely on a number of fronts.
Attendance
Coprorate support
Gambling spillover or any taint
Fan enthusiasm/support

Wouldn't surprise me that if things go really well that Vegas moves high on the next expansion city pool.

I saw the letters XFL posted here, so I'm using that as an excuse to post a cool video. These are the best hits from XFL, with a special guest appearance from our own Corey Ivy (not really anymore) at the 1:05 mark.
