View Full Version : LT was considering the Ravens?
L.T. Eyed Saints, Ravens, Broncos
Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 8:32 p.m. EDT
Although the Chargers and running back LaDainian Tomlinson have worked out their differences, the contractual dispute between the two parties was sufficiently significant to prompt L.T. to ponder seriously his next NFL destination.
Tomlinson said on Thursday’s Dan Patrick Show that the 2006 NFL MVP considered the Saints, the Ravens, and the Broncos.
Most speculation centered on L.T. going to the Saints, where he would have been reunited with former San Diego quarterback Drew Brees. In Baltimore, L.T. would have again played for former Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.
He also told Patrick that he’d be happy to share carries with Darren Sproles. Previously, it wasn’t clear whether L.T. would agree to a job-sharing arrangement.

Not that I would want him for a lot of money but he would have added to our team IMO......waddya all think?

It would be interesting to say the least, but I don't think we have enough carries to go around for the 3 backs we already have.

I was gonna say with McGahee off the team, but then I really thought about it and realized... McGahee picked up blocks prior to getting layed out against Pitt and really tried, unlike Tomlinson who has a tendency to either A. Not play in the playoffs, or B. Suck in the Playoffs (then cry when someone does lights out)....plus hes taken a beating throughout the past few years.
So here is the million dollar question:
Who would you rather have McGahee or Tomlinson (and dont just based on the name associated with it)??????

McGahee! I like his moxy, and his toughness, plus he is a pretty decent running back. He really took one on the button at Pittsburgh, and laid some big blocks during crunch time - he can suit up for my team anytime.

Today, I would go with McGahee. LT is good but he's way past his prime. If McGahee stays healthy and out of Harbaugh's dog house, he'll be great for us!

Definitely McGahee. LT is a hall of famer and was the best in the game in his prime. Too bad his prime is a distant memory. For the next 2 or 3 years, give me Willis every time.

Yeah, I bashed Willis in the middle of the season, but from the Cowboys game on he won me back. That performance in Pitt, laying down some crucial blocks, was inspiring.

That never would have happened. The Ravens absolutely can not cut McGahee for contractual reasons. He is going to be a Raven for at least this year. I just hope he comes into training camp in shape and ready to go.

Rumor has it that he WILL be participating in all OTAs this year, which is a good sign.

Willis is the best option for us at RB, period. He's got tough juice running through his veins.

he is currently recovering from a minor surgery. he is supposed to be here for all OTAs as was previously stated. i hope he comes in shape. i love him as our RB, i just wish he had better cardio. he sucks wind hard after a long run. Jamal had asthma and smoked cigs like a chimney when off the field and he had better wind.
no way LT would have been a Raven. Willis is owed too much money and we would have had no room for LT. i do have to disagree with folks though. "LT is way past his prime" and "his days are a distant memory." really? he was injured the bulk of last year. in 2007 he lead the league in rushing and was second in the league in TDs with 18.

I actually think Willis will rebound nicely next season.
His attitude and production the last 6 games was very good.
Do we forget that huge run in Big D?
I think the 3 headed monster will be back in form next season. Provided we don't forget to use all of them.

This is Willis' last opportunity to prove that he can be "the best running back in the NFL."
If he comes anywhere near that distinction, we've got it made.
