Right, this I think is the eventualities for this weekend's relavent games (NYJ_MIA, NE_BUF, JAX_BAL):

Dolphins win, Ravens win:

- Dolphins take the 3rd seed irrespective of the Patriots result.
- Ravens take the 6th seed irrespective of the Patriots result.

Dolphins win, Patriots win, Ravens lose:

- Dolphins take the 3rd seed.
- Patriots take the 6th seed.

Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens win:

- Patriots take 3rd seed at 11-5
- Ravens take 6th seed at 11-5

Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens lose:

- Patriots take 3rd seed at 11-5
- Dolphins, Jets & Ravens tied at 10-6 for 6th seed.
1) Jets eliminate Dolphins from the tie on head to head record.
2) Jets eliminate Ravens from the tie on conference record (8-4 to 7-5)

Jets win, Patriots lose, Ravens lose:

- Jets take the 3rd seed at 10-6 from the Patriots & Dolphins on 3-way head to head (3-1, plays 2-2, plays 1-3)
- Dolphins, Patriots, Ravens tied at 10-6 for 6th seed.
1) Dolphins & Patriots would need to be split on SOS or SOV.
2) However, whoever wins that tie-breaker we beat on either head-to-head (Dolphins) or Conference record (Patriots).

Not sure whether this is laid out any clearer anywhere else, but just wanted to go through it myself and if it helps anyone else, more's the better.

From what I have heard, If the Pats lose to the Bills, we clinch the sixth spot regardless of the Jets-Dolphins game.

That makes sense, yes. The only team we lose the tiebreaker to is the Jets who we can only tie with for 6th place if the Patriots win.

I say we don't worry about these scenarios and go out and do our part so they can beat the Jags!!

True !!!!!!!!!!!

It's in our hands now - if we don't win then let a better team take 6th spot.
