Mason is the type of man you want kids to emulate. What a gutsy performance last night!

Without a doubt, the man is a machine and we're blessed to have him.

There is no doubt that if Mason doesn't man-up the way he did we don't win this game.
Amazing that in the type of pain he was in, he was still able to not only go out and at least play a decoy, but be a serious contributer by making plays to win.

No doubt the MVP of this team this year IMO.

I have admired this guy all year - he has been my 'fox hole' guy from day one. If I go into combat, I want Derrick by my side.

I am building a statute of Mason on my lawn.

I can't think of a better FA signing...at least as far back as I can remember

This reminded me a lot of that Monday Night Football game in 1978 - Redskins at Colts - the year Bert Jones played through a throwing shoulder separation. One time he walked off the field holding his shoulder, looking up at the sky in obvious pain. The man went back in and threw a 70-yard bomb to Roger Carr to help win the game.

Derrick's game was no less inspiring. He was writhing in pain on the bench and still went our with one arm and made playes. Big plays. In a game we needed, the man delivered. One for the ages.

Big props to big Willie Anderson, who came back with a bum ankle.

And it wasn't just the touchdown.

How about the fumble recovery when McClain put the ball on the ground and the Cowboys couldn't hold onto it? Mason was there to save the day.

Multiple sideline catches.

All with one arm.

He is a warrior.

#85 Mason is a true Raven and was since the day we picked him up. Playing in the pain he was in and making the plays was a major part of our win!

Logged on just to post a thread about Mason. Not the best play i ever saw from him but absolutely the gutsiest performance i ever saw from a Raven. I thought the man wasn't getting up everytime they showed him. Not only did he get up but he showed that he wanted the ball. That takes a set of huge nockers ! ! ! Here to you Mason:respect

I stay home from work when I have a sniffle. Mason was at work with the use of only one arm. It's a good thing that the Ravens brought in a true warrior like Mason as a free agent rather than someone like me :)

Actually, they gave the game ball to OJ Brigance, who is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).

this is the time of year when the big-time players separate from the average joes. DMason is a big-timer.
hope he heals well; looks like we'll be needing him for a few more weeks...

His stature grows.

With utmost respect for his gutsy effort when the ball bounced off his shoulder for an int/td and cost us a game, Mason more than made up for it.
We appreciated his even being on the field that game, but this game he not only more than made up for that play, he delivered 2 plays that could have changed the game if they didn't happen. The fumble recovery and the TD catch.
;) any guesses as to Ravenous52's #1 hero this week?

Huh.

I thought you had to go to the "U" to be a warrior.

That was an awesome way to take away from the point of this thread.

Back on topic. Mason was unbelievable yesterday. Probably the most impressive performance by a Raven I've ever seen. Best FA pickup ever by us anyone?

Best FA pickup ever by us anyone?

If not the best, he is near the top
Shannon Sharpe
Ron Woodson
Goose, Adams, now Anderson....

He is definitely the most productive over the long term, I'd say yes but cases can be made for one or two others.

MMac should also be on the list of high-end Ravens FA. In fact, wasn't he the first major one?
