I was reading the article and post about T.J. Houshemandzadeh pondering his exit from Cincinnati, and the possibility of him considering Baltimore as his next home. But I want everyone else's opinion. Which is the best possible scenerio for the Ravens?
1.) We sign Houshmazilla as a FA and have him team up with Derrick Mason.
2.) We tag and trade Suggs (or Suggs and another piece) for Anquan Boldin.
3.) We ignore both Housyamomma and Boldin, and try to get a decent WR in this years Draft, even if it's a late 1st rounder (Heyward-Bey.)
4.) We trade Suggs to a losing team to get a high draft pick so we can try to draft Michael Crabtree.
Personally, I think it'd be a dream come true if the Ravens signed Houshmandzadeh as a FA, and traded Suggs for Boldin. :happyanim Imagine that WR corps....Mason, TJ, and Boldin with Clayton and Figurs/Demetrius Williams as your 4th and 5th string guys. I seriously doubt that they would keep Williams at that point though if we had guys like Anquan and T.J.
Which do you think is the best option for us to take? Is it even possible to get both Houshmazode and Boldin?
I am not opposed to Houshwhatever (I guess I will learn have to spell that) if the price is right. Trading for Boldin? I am not in such a hurry to get rid of Suggs. I will let Ozzie make that call, however. If it is even possible.

Why dump Suggs? :229031_confused2: Defense wins championships ... pick up a WR via free agency and/or the draft -- great. But don't mess with the defense. Suggs is young with lots of future.

This tag and trade thing blows me away.
Trades in the NFL just don't happen that often, particurally with marquee type players within the same trade.
It's one thing to have malcontents like T.O., Moss, etc. and trade them away for what you can get, but we ain't letting Suggs go for chump change, and Arizona ain't letting Boldin go either.
Arizona is on the cusp of winning that division, so I'm not so sure Boldin is still screaming to get out.
I just don't see a trade like that happening, not to mention if you let Suggs go you've created a large hole on a defense with lots of players that aren't getting any younger.
If they can get whosyourmama for a reasonable deal, great, but he still doesn't solve your true #1 legit threat.

Am I the only one thinking that TJ has a shot at being a legit #1 threat once he gets out of Chad's shadow?
Someone tell me what I am not getting.

I think he (TJ) can be a valid deep-receiver. I do not agree that Chad has a shadow. That would imply he is outdoors and playing. He has not done too much of that this season.

I think there's no way possible a Suggs-Boldin trade happens. No way. I think it's too one-sided. John Clayton has written that about 6 legitimate WRs have been developed since 2000 (or something similar to that), whereas DE/OLB hybrids are much more common (although Suggs is one of the best). I think the Ravens would jump all over it, but I don't think the Cardinals would go for it.
The Cardinals also don't want to spend much money to sign Boldin, so why would they want to spend that much on Suggs?
It would be a perfect trade for the Ravens. No team, except for the Steelers, has a track record of finding LBs. So, to be able to give up a player the Ravens could do a decent job replacing to get a position they have a hard time developing would be ideal.
I would love for the Ravens to get Boldin for Suggs, but I just don't think it'll happen.

Although TJ is a great receiver he really isn't the deep threat we are coveting. He is more of a possession receiver like Mason.

While a deep threat receiver is ideal and coveted by this franchise and would certainly compliment the powerful arm of Flacco, I am just as content with someone who is capable of capitalizing on the Y.A.C. Mason has a great talent of causing defender to whiff on a tackle. His elusiveness and quick stop/cut/go maneuverability makes him a viable number one receiver. I feel that TJ would definitely be a great addition as his style is not that dissimilar. It has worked decently this season. If we had someone to mix it up a bit and keep defenses on their toes, we could do amazing thing. Not entirely unlike our running game this season.

Those of you who think Suggs should be traded have a screw loose.
Dude is a monster and is just now hitting his prime. And note that Ozzie has never once traded a marquee player or let him walk in his prime. He does not let them get away.
Regarding WRs, draft one and get one via FA. If TJ is affordable, I have no doubt Ozzie will be in on that action.

Exactly!
The dude puts up great numbers being a #2 behind Ocho Sucko. Imagine what he can do being our main guy?!

best case scenario; TJ Spellcheck signs as FA, we keep Sizzle, and draft a monster deep threat that produces right away.
probly not likely, but 'best case'...

Many already regarded him the #1 WR in Cincinnati before this season started.
