We are now down to two possible dates::celery

w/e 30/31 August
or
w/e 16/17 August:beer1:

The 30th is the Challenge Cup Final, so if Hull KR are there then it's a non-starter. If we are not there then there is something to watch.

Is this okay?

Hull KR were not allowed to win against St.Helens. Not sure where the rule came from that you are not allowed to best the Cup holders - but the ref sure knew it!

Hull FC beat crappy Bradford - just going to prey that they get someone other than Wakefield in the semi.

Either one is fine by me at the mo and have now gone on my mum's car insurance until October so I'll be able to get up to Huddersfield easily.

Only stumbling block I may have is that I could be moving back to Herts or to Cambridge sometime around mid-August so will just have to avoid these dates.

Sadly with the way things are going with the cost of petrol.I doubt I will be making the trip.I only use the car for food shopping and taking us to our forests for mountain biking as it is.

£100+ on petrol for a BBQ just doesn't seem sensible in these troubled times.
Sorry for the letdown, but welcome to the new age of no fun England. And prepare for civil revolt if the English people had any backbone. But there again most of the intelligent English people have left the country.

Seeing as me, yourself and Simon all live around London or can easily get to London. Would a solution be for us all to car pool up there? Meet at someone's house, they agree to drive us all and we split the cost?

Add Chris to the list and it should be straight forward!

Sounds like a good idea.As I am furthest south I will be either picking up.Or parking up. As my car is 13 years old,I'd suggest parking up.But I don't mind.
We need a central pickup, parkup point.Where cars are going to be safe parked over the weekend.

But we need to get this all planned out.And sorted way before we get going.

I will be moving over from AOL [hell] to O2 broadband hopefully on the 20th of June.
So I will PM you on here my new email address when sorted.

Thoughts ideas can be posted here.

Well I'd suggest that unless anyone is quietly hiding a mansion somewhere in the London area that they live then I'd guess that no-one here has the space to park three cars over a weekend and the people that they live with still have space to have use of their drive way.

I'd guess a solution would be for one person to drive around and pick up (for example, Paul as the furthest south drives through and picks people up) then leaves their car at the final stop (for example me or Simon as the closest to the major routes to the north) and we drive on as a collective from there without cluttering up someone's drive or their road.

Having thought about all this linking up.I have decided to just make the journey up in my 13 year old Primera and hope for the best.As it hasn't had a major journey like this for a longtime.

I will just have to suck the bullet cost wise.

How many are coming? I will make the journey only if there are enough of us meeting up!

Has the date been decided as I will need to book some time off work.Sorry to be so negative I just have alot of stuff going on at the moment healthwise.
