I have no problem with the way the Rays took out a yankee catcher at all. The player who did so is doing anything he can to make the team. I disagree with the Yankee's retaliation though. Any opinions?

Yup. There's your answer.
Girardi's quote (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/13/sports/baseball/13yankees.html?_r=1&ref=sports&oref=slogin):
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Two of his players and two of his coaches were ejected Wednesday, but Yankees Manager Joe Girardi insisted his team had not been looking for a fight. In the visiting dugout after Round 2 of a bruising bout with the Tampa Bay Rays, Girardi calmly explained that only one thing upset him.
“I’m upset that my catcher’s having surgery today,” he said.
Yeah. The head coach does not care about his team escalating what could have been an unfortunate, but otherwise routine, collision at home plate into a WWE grudge match. Way to set the tone, coach.

The only retaliation I saw came from Gomes attacking Shelly Duncan. WTF! The guy came all the way from the outfield to pick a fight. What total bs.

Yeah, Girardi handled this pretty badly. He basically accused the Rays of playing too hard in a spring training game, but manages to avoid commenting on one of his own players going after an infielder with his cleats. Can't have it both ways, bud.
And if you don't want one of your catchers to get hit during a spring training game, tell him to not block the plate during a spring training game.

Who cares, it's only spring training baseball...:grbac:
Let those pansies continue to :girlfight back and forth and maybe it'll take everyone's minds off of the huge steroids/HGH cloud hovering over that tainted clusterfuck of a league.

Of course, you're a Yankees fan. What Duncan did was totally uncalled for. He even said in the paper that he had something for the Rays.
Also what's up with Hank Steinbrenner? Does this guy realize how stupid he's making himself look?

Apparently he doesn't realize it, but sports reporters everywhere love what a loud-mouthed idiot he is. I don't know if he's intentionally trying to act like his father or if he really is this big of a buffon, but it's amusing to watch.
