This place is awash with inactivity! It's the time of year, I know, but I count on this site to wile away some time... from time to time...and ...oh, well.. Someone MUST have SOMETHING or some one to gossip about?

Like you said, it's that time of year . . . there just isn't much going on. But if you're desperate for something how's this:

Former Raven Obafami Ayanbadego is actually filing a lawsuit against some supplement manufacturer that he says included a banned substance that wasn't listed in the ingredients on the label. He got suspended four games and apparently hasn't gotten back into the game since then, and he blames this manafucturer for the whole thing. Although this is a common excuse for guys that get popped for violating the substance abuse policy, you hardly ever hear of them actually following through by taking legal action. It'll be interesting to see if he gets anywhere with it.

Okay, it's not much, but it's all I got right now. Oh, I did hear today on some station that Billick was at the Ed Block Courage Awards the other night and was very good, and got a nice ovation from the crowd.

It's funny you started this topic. I was out to dinner with the in-laws last night and my father in law tells me Steve McNair is getting cut. He says someone he knows who knows a coach on the staff says he'll be cut. I don't buy it. Take it for what it's worth.

Is it some weird unwritten law that everyone's father-in-law has to be a know-it-all? Just wondering . . .

I'll buy it because it's logical. McNair is washed up and too expensive. Time for a young, inexpensive rookie to replace him on the roster.

How about a cheese thread...I like Feta.

I like Feta is small enough chunks to get the pungent flavor without over dominating the rest of the food. I prefer the Danish or domestic Feta (crispy) over the softer Greek :greece feta, made from sheep's or goat's milk. Feta is great when served up as an appetizer with anchovies and Kalamata olives.

My father was a sheep & goat herder in Macedonia -- they would blend both sheep & goat milk to make their Feta. When he & his relatives would make Feta cheese in our basement, the whole house would smell bad.

I like extra sharp cheddar. Tastes especially good in scrambled eggs and mac & cheese. Muenster makes a really good grilled cheese sandwich. Provolone isn't bad either.

I'd have to agree, as I do enjoy a good bleu cheese dressing, especially with hot wings. Mmmmmmm. . .

Tis the time of the year to be eating Dubliner. Friggin great Irish sharp cheddar.
I hate all goat or sheep cheeses. Being an old farm boy the cheese tastes just like an old billy goat smells. YUK

Nothing better than taking a burn-your-hands-on-the-acid-fire-hot wing, slathering it in blue cheese, and eating your face off!

I have to agree PSU....

There was a place in my home town, that would not charge you if you could eat a whole dozen of their "Endorphine Rush" wings without a sip of beverage. Blue Cheese was allowed. Big Mistake, 2 freinds and I sat down in HS and 7 dozen wings later we left free of charge.

Agree wholeheartedly! ... By the way, 3 weeks ago, their 2 lb hunk was $9.86, and it went down to $7.68... what happened? Did we have a milk shortage?
We used to have a Cheese and Wine Chalet here in hagersbush. They sold a French cheese called Tonnelait. The place has been closed for twenty years, and I have yet to find that kind of cheese ANYWHERE. Any one ever heard of it? know where it might be purchased?

I used to hate spicy foods, all the way through college. After college I moved to Richmond and got hooked up with folks that went to a local bar/cafe for Monday Night Football with $0.10 wings and $2.50 pitchers. We became regulars and started getting charged basically for one plate and one pitcher all night regardless how much we ate.

Those wings were (still are) hot. Somewhere around the BW3's second hottest, probably a little hotter. The first night I ate wings there it took me an hour to get through 9 of them, and I was crying by the end of the night.

A year later we decided to break our own "per capita" wing record and I downed 21 of them. Sh*t my brains out the next day, but otherwise felt fine.

Now I love spicy foods. I cringe at Asian places, and at this point other than the one place I'm well known and they know I can handle the heat, I don't even bother to ask them to make the food extra spicy, I just ask for their spice tray. They generally think the American version of "hot" means "make it so my tongue feels a little warm".

Americans are largely p*ssies when it comes to spicy foods. I used to be one of them...

The wings at Kislings on Fleet Street still remain the BEST wings I have ever had. Their Nuclear wings will melt your colon and have your grandkids shitting fire.

Clarification: I have never had those Kisling wings before, I was simply commenting on the greatness of having wings so hot they melt your face.

There's nothing better than sitting there with sweat running down your brow having to wipe your nose from sinus-clearing, sweat inducing hot wings.
