If anyone gets the chance before the combine starts today, check out NFL Total Access.
About 25 minutes into the show, Mooch interviews Harbaugh and Mike Smith, new HC for the Falcons. One thing I found interesting was when Mooch brought up the QB situation in Baltimore. Mooch made mention to only McNair and Boller and then couched that comment by asking what is the game plan for selecting a QB this year.
This brought a pretty quick response from Harbaugh who said "We have 3 great QB's and I would not be shocked if our starting QB is one of them".
Now, I know that's exactly what he is supposed to say but I still would not be shocked if we DID NOT take a QB at #8.
By the way, what is Harbaugh even doing at the combine??? I thought Ozzie did all the picking / scouting??? (slight dig at PP and others!) ;)

Umm, if we draft a QB, no matter what round, that QB won't start.
Hell, we could trade up to the #1 spot and draft Matt Ryan and he wouldn't start for this team.
As far as him being at the combine. Every coach is. I've never argued that coaches have input.
They just don't make the final call on personnel decisions.
If they did, then they'd have the duel title as GM.

Does that mean that you would be shocked if we DID take a QB at #8?
I "would not be shocked if we DID NOT take a QB at #8" either -- what would be shocking about it? I didn't think it was written in stone that we were going to pick a QB with our first pick. Maybe if Ryan is still on the board we might, but Ozzie is not usually a draft-for-need GM, at least not in the first round.

Didn't you guys hear? Ozzie's already said McNair's our starter...

yeah, if we draft Ryan (or Brohm) and they suck will we constantly hear how whichever one we drafted was Harbaugh's boy and Ozzie wanted the other?

hey, if you spend the present being scared of the past you're not going anywhere.
Harbaugh really seems like a nice fit and refreshing change of face. I'm excited to see him and his staff's work this year!

I agree that OL and DL are paramount to a teams success. However, I doubt that Long or Dorsey slide to 8. Ellis might be gone too. Gholston appears to be more suited to linebacker than DE. Right now, I am liking Limas Sweed the WR from Texas. He ran well. He is a big target with soft hands.

I will win the MegaMillions before we draft a WR in the first round.
It will either be a CB or QB, IMO.
