For the 2007 home opener, an enterprising member of Nest 1 brought a 200lb ice luge on the back of his truck. I took some video of various members doing the luge thing and slapped them on youtube.

HBO contacted me and wants to use the footage for a new HBO series 'Real Sports With Bryant Gumbal' (??!!).

How cool is that. I told them to do a show featuring profootball24x7.com :)

That looks more fun than sliding down a mountain on a sledge.

Wonder if HBO can sponsor a UKRaven visit? We could show them the sport of tossing, ahem, throwing celery.

Be careful, make sure they arent doing a story on drunken rowdy fans tailgating! .....or else youd be helping them! Make sure its about the best tailgaters in the NFL!

I told them that Gumbal has to say Ravens fans are the most sober and well behaved fans in the NFL and that this ice luge incident was not typical of their behavior. In fact it is thought that the luge was left there by visiting fans from the previous week.

I didn't tell them that we had the luge for 3 home games last year :)

Cruzan Banana and Coconut rum down the luge, baby!

I'll have to freeze some up for the summer drinking series held at the Windbag Estates.

FYI, we get it from a local ice company. They cut the block and put the slots in it for $40.

The guy who the truck belongs to built a wooden frame for it.

Did they mention what kind of a story they were doing?? was it about the ravens or just general tailgating in the nfl?

Where do you guys tailgate?

Steve, do you watch Real Sports? This will NOT be a positive story on the joys of tailgaiting. It will be an "expose" on the drunken orgy that accompanies the NFL.
And I will need to see some I.D's for the young ladies in the first video...

it's about tailgating in the NFL and the excess drinking I believe.

This totally needs to be fixed at games. Fans drink way too much before and during the game. Having some drinks is fine but this excessive behavior is bad for the NFL.

I dont see the joy of watching someone throwing up a beer that he just gobbled up. Some of those idiots were trying to snap pictures with their phones, while laughing at their *friend*--How sad. I'd hate to be next to those guys.

BZZT! The last thing we need is Gestapo types strolling the tailgate lots looking for people who they deem to be drinking too much.

Neither do I and I wouldn't want to be next to them, and they should be handled. But it is the exception, not the rule. No reason to go crazy on this (pun intended).

I ve been to every game of the ravens except 3 and cant recall any instances of fights in the tailgate area. Ive seen maybe 3 or 4 people so wasted they couldnt walk, or actually getting sick in the tailgate lots, but thats 1% of those their. Mostly its one huge fun party. People eating and drinking and being friendly. I dont get the story line...where is the problem??

Im in sect 148, and i cant recall the last time i saw a fight in the stands. havent seen one in a quite awhile.

I have a very good friend who is a city Police officer, he always tries to get our corner so we can feed him:crazy:, and after just about every game some drunk gets into a fight, last year this guy wanted him to pull over all the buses so he can fun the dude that suckerpunched him:rolling: Needless to say he took a "report".

My stepson had a friend that got kicked out for stumbling and falling down the steps and he was under aged and messed up.

I swear the guys behind us spend 100 bucks a game on beer and they are quite shit faced by the 3rd quarter. It is crazy, but I'm not sure there is anything that can be done. I am in no way a non drinker and I usually have a glass of wine or 2 at tailgate( beer makes me have to use the facility too much and I don't do spottie potties). Some people don't know when enough is enough, that ice luge looks like fun.

The crazy thing about that Buffalo dude was...he said he might puke...but he didn't have to "drink" the beer, we just wanted to see him rip the top off the can with his teeth.

He's an idiot!
