A postgame quote from Adialius Thomas:
"This is a whole lot different," said Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas, who spent the previous seven seasons with the Ravens. "Not to disrespect anybody, but I'm not used to putting up points. I've always come from a defensive-minded team. But the offense can beat you here as well as the defense and special teams. This is a complete team."
Being honest, and at the same time reminding us Ravens fans of the futility of what has been the Ravens Offense over that past nine years. AD, it also helps to have a solid O-line (although the Ravens pushed them to the limit this year), and superstars at both QB and Wide Receiver. The same is true in Dallas, where they have who imo is the second coming of Bret Favre in Tony Romo, a solid running back, a HOF receiver, and a solid O-line. Such talent can make any OC a desired commodity. I remember a certain BB who came to Baltimore from such a talent laden team. I hope this fact is not lost in the selection of a new HC; ie we better focus on what is really important in choosing a HC, and that is one who knows his xs and os and has the fire and toughness to get the most out of his team.

Yeah. It does help when your QB has literally all day the throw the damn ball, AD.

What's he supposed to say?
He's 100% right. I dont mind what he said.

He is also planting seeds in Free agents heads...The Pats are a great organization.

He's still on that team? I'm not sure I saw him last night.... Ah, I guess he even played as he had 2 assists and a Pass Defenced. It's too bad we lost the best defensive player on the best defense, but it's weird that he doesn't play much on an average defense. Oh yeah, maybe he was more of a product of our system.
I understand what he is saying, but he has almost 30 million reasons to thank Baltimore, first.

While what he says is certainly true I must say I think it's time that AD moves on. He has to admit that over his time in Baltimore he benefited from the team and the system as much as any player here. Without his time in Baltimore, the things he learned here and the things he was able to accomplish here it's unlikely he would have reaped such free agancy rewards. I'm very happy for him that he has found and is a part of his "dream team" but this continual deriding of the team that developed him is both unseemly and unnecessary IMO. Move on AD, be happy and just shut the hell up about the Ravens you have repeated the same things enough now that everyone in the world knows how unhappy you were being a part of such a disfunctional organization.

AD should be very grateful to the Ravens, not only for giving him a shot, but for not slapping the franchise tag on him last year, which they could have easily done. He seems to have a pretty short memory.
And jonboy is right, his impact on the Patriots defense has been minimal, considering what they are paying him.

Some of you sound like jilted ex's, jealous of your ex-lovers new life! ;)
I think he HAS moved on and was simply making a comparison. I'd love to see what question he was asked. I bet it was something like "Compare this year to last year". What is he supposed to say?
"I'm sorry I cannot comment for fear of making my ex-teams fans upset"
YOU need to let it go, not AD.

I'm certainly not a "jilted ex". While I appreciated his contribution to the Ravens while he was here I wasn't broken hearted for him to move on.
As far as what the question may have been, it doesn't matter, there are other ways it could have been answered. I have heard many players when asked to compare things as they were with their former team simply say something like "that's in the past" or "I'm here now and that's what I think about". Every idiotic question posed by a reporter does not require an in-depth answer.

I'm not a "jilted ex" either, which isn't a great analogy since as I pointed out earlier, the Ravens could have slapped the franchise tag on him as many teams do, but they chose to let him go make a big payday elsewhere. This was pretty much a mutual parting.
And Houston may be right in that perhaps he was simply answering a reporter's question, and gave what he thought was an honest answer, but it still sounds like sour grapes from a guy who has absolutely no reason that I know of to carry a grudge against his former team.

I was never in the re-sign AD club last year. I was and still am perfectly happy to let him go, take the assumed 3rd round comp pick and move on with life. I would have matched Pashos' contract if that was possible however, but I'm not heartbroken over it.

:iagree:
Every couple of weeks AD crawls out from under the rock he's been living under to say the same damn thing. We get it AD you love it at NE. I don't blame him. But he has dropped of from last year.

In the games I watched, what I saw from AD was good play.
I'm reminded of another player who probably was in a similar situation, namely WIlbur Marshall. He looked like he was a super-star demon on the Bears, and then people wondered what happened to him when he went to Washington.
Answer was nothing happened, he was still a force on the field, just employed differently.
AD looks in the same situation to me. If someone of his caliber wasn't there covering his responsibilities, I wonder if Vrabel and Harrison would look as good as they are able to? I didn't notice any drop-off in his speed, or his first step, but I saw him tying up people more so others could make plays.
The way we used him, he had impressive numbers, the way they use him, he had better be happy with the money and the team concept, cause he won't see pro-bowl numbers unless his role changes.
