There's Sports Steve again doing the right thing again for Baltimore Football.

Sports Steve has been saying this on his web site for over a year.

Put Mr. Modell in the Hall Of Fame  :taz: :taz:

I think he will get in eventually, but not until Cleveland writer Tony Grossi gives up his one-man crusade to keep him out.

It's sad to see a so called professional journalist be so limited in his view of who is deserving of getting into the HOF.

As much as I despise Bob Irsay, if he had the track record of Modell I would have to vote him in.

It needs to be about what the man did FOR the NFL, not what he did TO a city.

We need to write him in mass. However do it right don't piss him off. It's our shot to help Art Modell get in while he is alive. There are a lot of members on this board.

I have wrote him and I continue to put messages all over my web site sportssteve.com this in hope that we can finally get the votes needed.

Thanks,
Sports Steve

As much as I admire what you're doing, you've got a better chance of convincing a Steeler fan to go to the dentist than you have of convincing Grossi to stop his vendetta against Art.

I really think the direction of the collective plea has to be targeted at the voting members influenced by Grossi and not Grossi himself. He is unlikely to change his position as FP eloquently stated. But those to whom Grossi has pleaded his case are more likely to be influenced.

I will reach out to Scott Garceau (a voting member) and see if he can join us on GAMETIME in the next week or two to discuss.

Thanks, I found it after the post... but it was rather unnoticeable.
From what I have read, The Squeelerz should be leading the bandwagon for his inclusion!!!!!!
After some deliberation, I have taken the fact that there would be no Steelers w/o Art from the "against" side of the pros and cons list of whether or not Art should be in. After all, how could we muster as much hatred for any other team?

An undercurrent on all this is the fact that he probably will end up in the hall eventually. It just would be really nice if he was still alive to receive the honor, appreciation, and thanks, so Baltimore Ravens Fans have to be a large force to counter a writer's vendetta.
Reaching out to Scott Garceau is a great idea. He has access to the battlelines, we just have to support him and keep giving him as much motivational push as we can.

I agree to write all the selection members. It's just that to continue the pressure on Grossi it can't hurt but take a little of your time. I know Grossi may never change his stance but it doesn't hurt. We have to look at all avenues as Art isn't getting any younger.

Trust me, Steve, you are NOT going to change Tony Grossi's mind. He will carry this vendetta to the grave.
Being a former Clevelander I can tell you that should Art be inducted the scene in Canton will be truly UGLY! Those folks will Never forget and NEVER forgive. I don't think it would be safe for a Modell to even show up in Canton. You notice Art never went to Cleveland after the move - he's no dummy.

I continue to be amazed that he is not in there. What a flawed system. PUT ART IN THE HoF!

Vote NO for Art just like he did for Baltimore expansion (twice?) to set up his own cash grab.

Don't be hypocrites Baltimore!

At the risk of sounding morbid, Art will probably be dead before Tony Grossi gives up his hate campaign.

I think speak for most here when I say .... GO F$#@ Yourself!

That's such a twisted story I dont even know where to begin. Second, there wouldnt be an NFL, Super Bowl, Salary Cap etc without Art.

Take your revisionist history back to one of the Clown boards.

I vote NO for your ever being allowed to post here again, your desire to procreate, and any law in place that says you have the right to contine to exist upon this globe.

Turns out, this thread is a moot point: Art is already in the hall according to this picture I found...
