No thread?

I will get it started then. Hopefully this can catch on with the teams not being the Ravens ....

Seattle looking pretty darn good considering the Skins playing on emotion ...

Mr.Boh

damn skins just took the lead...

Say goodnight, deadskins. 28-14 lead, with 2:00+ to play and Seattle with the ball.

RockyMRaven

Another pick 6! Seattle put the nail in the Skins' coffin. Apart from the Skins surge at the beginning of the second half, the Seahawks really dominated this game, though. They deserved to win.

Mr.Boh
01-05-2008, 07:52 PM
and they lose by 21.

HoustonRaven
01-05-2008, 07:53 PM
Never thought Id say it, but I was hoping the skins would go further ....

Oh well, bye bye Gibbs.

On to the Jags kicking the crap out of Shitsburgh!

Not getting any points after getting that botched kickoff absolutely killed the Skins.

Im glad they lost.

That game didn't grab me much.

However, the Jags/Steelers game is the one I've been waiting for.

By far the the most interesting of the 4 games this weekend IMO.

Shitsburgh looks solid so far ....

Although their field looks like something out of a cow pasture

I picked Pitt to win this game.

All this talk about Jax being the team nobody wants to play took on a life of it's own and in the meantime the home team just got forgotten.

Lots of football to play but that was a great drive by Pitt.

Henderson's injury is huge.

Just what Jax needed.

Man, the Jags are a solid team.

Physical as hell.

They have no pro bowlers on their team.

If that's not proof positive as to how much of a joke the pro bowl has become, I dunno what is.

PP

HoustonRaven
01-05-2008, 09:43 PM
wow .... 3 picks in the first half

Odds are not in Shitsburgh favor

Screw both the Redskins & Steelers. I hate the fans of both teams. If the Jags can nail the coffin shut in the 2nd half, it's a great day! (Let's see the Colts lose next week for the trifecta).

purplepoe

Ben has made some horrid throws and decisions.

Jags get the ball to open the half.

A nice 7 minute drive with a healthy dose of both RBs should put the nail in Pittsburgh's coffin.

This team is very very impressive.

I agree PP ...

Nice to see a former Raven make good!

Im convinced they are legit and I will be pulling for them the rest of the way.

Screw both the Redskins & Steelers. I hate the fans of both teams.

I'm with you, T. I watched the second half of the first game at a little bar populated by Redskins fans, including one I was sitting with, and it was difficult not to celebrate what Seattle did in the last ten minutes. (I had to be nice to her, she was crushed).

As for the Steelers, Ben doesn't look too good so far. I thought it was going to be their night after they scored so quickly on their first possession, but the rest of the first half was all Jax.

And as I type this, the Jags are on the Squeeler's ten yard line. Could be a good day.

RavenScallywag

at least the Jags managed to get a lucky break on the 2 pt conversion with a holding call. Big Ben scrambles on the 2nd attempt, comes up about 4-5 yards short.

28-23. My wife predicted a one point Steelers win. Only way I can see that is if they get another TD with no extra point.

HoustonRaven
01-05-2008, 10:53 PM
Did anyone else notice that Billick-esque 3 straight pass plays when they have already established the run???

Jags are imploding!

Wow, terrible call for defensive pass interference. Ward was holding his facemask!!!! Looks like the refs from their Super Bowl game are officiating......

purplepoe
01-05-2008, 11:07 PM
So let me get this straight.

Hines Ward can run and get into the face of a Jags player after pretty much any play without a call.

Then he can CLEARLY grab and hold the facemask of the defender (yes it was PI too) and that goes uncalled.

Just makin sure.

What a crock.

Yes, he can!

That was 2 calls that should have negated each other (PI and Illegal Hands to the Face).....

ladyraven127
01-05-2008, 11:18 PM
Pitts can do anything they want Poe. I swear to God they pay the refs off.

I cannot stand this team no matter what year or who they are playing or where they stand in the division, but I swear I have never seen a team get so many "give me" calls or a team that have so many blatant penalities ignored.

It's not my imagination . . . . . I know it's not.

It just goes to show you that other coaches make dumb decisions too.

I wonder if most of the Billick bashers are aware of this or if they think that a new coach is gonna make all the right decisions.

I didn't even see the entire game, but the Steelers secondary had several plays, including the Garrad fourth down run, in which they simply missed tackles like a high school team. One of the Seattle first half TDs was like that too -- some guy stood there waiting for the runner to come to him and completely whiffed.

They deserved to lose.

Exciting game.

I know they are at least going to lose Alan Faneca. He's going to be an UFA and already said he's not giving Pitt a hometown discount. You know cheapskate Rooney won't put up the dollars to keep him.

Great games today all around. Deadskins and Stoolers one and done!

I notice a lot of people were criticizing Del Rio for the challenge. I think it was a good challenge. There was 2:30 (about) left in the game. He didn't need the time out - they were on the 50. At best, he gets it, and is in FG position instantly. At worst, he loses a TO that he wouldn't want to use anyway, because you want to run down the clock. I thought it was a great decision.
