On a good note . . . . at least the Squeelers lost today.

Just palmed off the rush to the outside and Manning had so much space. Nobody took an inside shoulder on that rush.

Absolutely lazy play by Willis there, holding onto the ball like he did in some of the primetime games earlier this year.

TD Indy.

Well at least I can go to bed by halftime.

Sheesh, what a difference a week makes.

Wow. Anyone else think we Don't need to draft a legit Cornerback in the 1st round now? I think we've just seen our backups are not capable of covering NFL receivers.

This is going to be a looooooooong night. :(

12-09-2007, 08:52 PM
BOLD PREDICTION: If we tank tonight (and so far, it's looking that way), I predict that we'll pack it in for the remainder of the season (yes, including Miami). We MIGHT beat Pittsburgh on the last game, but only for pride.

UKRavenStockers
12-09-2007, 08:53 PM
Backup CBs aren't supposed to be able to cover NFL starters, particularly upper echelon guys like Wayne. If they could they'd be starting elsewhere.

Any other team would be struggling in the same situation, but damn this sucks. And what's worse is I'm a beligerent fool and I'll stay up for this entire game and put myself through all of this. :o

RockyMRaven
12-09-2007, 08:53 PM
First Down!!!!

UKRavenStockers
12-09-2007, 08:57 PM
McGahee down now.

Interception.

Can we concede the game before we're left with 11 people to play offence and defence? Yikes.

Beerracuda
12-09-2007, 08:58 PM
And Addai is wide wide WIDE open for the easy TD.

21-0... unfuckingbelievable.

Ravens playing on national television in the rain?? Oh I think we've seen this story before. Same shit, different night.

UKRavenStockers
12-09-2007, 09:01 PM
We look about as flat as a pancake that got dropped on the floor forgotten about, trodden down a few times, had a carpet laid over it, rolled down to flatten the carpet, taken the carpet up, put some floor boards down that were nailed down hard, taken the floorboards up, put some vinyl down, rolled the air out of the flooboards, house left to be derilect, then building work commences to re-develop the site.

Hopefully some transient Steeler worker will find the pancake, think it's a treat and get food poisoning from it when he eats said flat pancake.

awalt
12-09-2007, 09:01 PM
Have you seen some of those plays, we have TWO receivers going out, the Colts have 5 in coverage. How can anyone get open?

1. We miss CMac and Rolle a LOT - Pittman and Martin stink
2. Play calling is very bad
3. Boller is a backup at best

Beerracuda
12-09-2007, 09:02 PM
That's right Billick, make sure you always call a play to throw it short of the first down marker. Asshole.

UK, and to think I was worried last week that the Pats would put up 60 on us.

And thought we might have a chance tonight.

What a fool believes.

Beerracuda
12-09-2007, 09:08 PM

That might've been the worst qtr I've ever seen in Ravens' history.

What a fool believes.

I've been down about this one all week, knew we'd expended all emotional and physical energy on Monday and we'd be totally flat in this one.

Then randomly decided earlier today that we had a glimmer of hope. Not quite sure why considering our matchup with the Colts and what we know this team is, but there ya go.

Still, I'll take the full punishment of 60 minutes. :o

30-7.

At least someone is trying. Go Figurs!

Mr.Boh
12-09-2007, 09:20 PM
Hopefully next year we will be able to bounce back and Figurs can be a big part of that.

ladyraven127
12-09-2007, 09:20 PM
We have way too many injuries and are sooooo bad that I don't think we will win another game the rest of the year. Of course, I said that about six weeks too . . . . and looky what happened. Nothing.

Sigh

What a year. Even the little girl who rules the house and is only ten years old knows the score. She just said before she went to bed "Gosh mom, we are really pathetic"

Oh, looky . . . . Figurs just scored. At least we won't lose with a big fat goose egg :rolling:

UKRavenStockers

ladyraven127
12-09-2007, 09:25 PM
I wonder, really I do, why we can't play in the rain? Am I the only one that automatically thinks we'll lose every time I hear it's going to rain when we play?

I don't think rain will make a difference UK. This team has packed it in for the season. If they had any intentions of avenging the playoff loss last year tonight, they sure aren't showing it. And against an 0-for team, they will have no motivation at all.

4G63
12-09-2007, 09:28 PM
I wonder, really I do, why we can't play in the rain? Am I the only one that automatically thinks we'll lose every time I hear it's going to rain when we play?

They ought to build an indoor facility with rain capability and speakers that blare in crowd noise at 110db's. If they can score on the 1st team D in that atmosphere, they can score on anyone.....

I'M DEAD SERIOUS!!!

Beerracuda
12-09-2007, 09:29 PM
wooohooo what an offense!!!

God help us all.

UKRavenStockers
12-09-2007, 09:32 PM
The good thing about the Phish next week, they are (if it's possible) 10x worse than us and they tanked the season before they came to London to play the Giants. If we lose it'd be the most humiliating defeat in the history of the franchise by a million miles, words can't describe how terrible that Miami team is. Even if we, the shoddy shoddy Ravens just show up and run conservative rubbish we should still beat 'em about 17-6, they're that bad.

Ah well, I like my gallows humour, I'm finding the funny side to how bad we are. I'd hate not to have a British sense of humour with this team this year. :o

I have to tell you there are a LOT OF PEOPLE leaving along with us right now.

This is just horrible. And I just heard on the radio that Pittman just got dogged again for another Indy TD?

What the hell, let's see all our backups out there now. Pull Boller, Ogden, McGahee, Mason, Ray, Bart, Ed. No reason to keep them out there for this ass whipping.

Beerracuda
12-09-2007, 09:46 PM
Troy Smith is not the answer for this team. He'll be lucky to be holding a clipboard the rest of his life. That said, I agree that we should just put him in for the 2nd half, just to see what he's got.

Just heard on the radio Billick say no Troy Smith tonight.

"That would be killer", is what he said.

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of pieces to win right now. And the team has packed it in tonight. Just a horrible horrible night on both sides of the ball.

ladyraven127
12-09-2007, 10:01 PM
"Just stay away from the Blackberry Brandy, LR!!! LMAO!!" Shut up asshole. I haven't had any blackberry brandy since that horrible KC game so so so many years ago. It took me over a week to recover from that one.

Blech

Sigh

I hate having a season like this. It's just ugly and tends to make us ugly too.

Oh no, the second half is going to start soon. Can we refuse to come out onto the field and just concede? :alien:

I grew really concerned after the Jets game.

It's amazing what has happened.

It's almost identical to 2005...probably worse.

I'm just tired of the inconsistency from year to year.

1999...average.
2000...Super Bowl win
2001...Good, but underachieving team
2002...bad overachieving cap hell team
2003...average playoff team
2004...average non-playoff team w/late season collapse
2005...dysfunctional terrible team...probably the least likable team we've had
2006...terrific 13-3 magical ride only to choke at the end
2007...injuries...turnovers...penalties...just bad, underachieving mess

Since Billick has been here, we have made the playoffs in cosecutive seasons once and outside of the magical 2000 season, have won 1 playoff game in 7 years.

This team needs an overhaul...if done smartly, we won't be down long as we still have some good young players, but the old guard is at the end...and that includes the coach.

How would you say Boller's performance compares to the meltdown that Chris Redman had in St. Louis a few years back?

And this night just keeps getting better We get to see our players whining and blaming the refs from last week.

The defense is decimated with injuries . . . . Heap is not playing AGAIN . . . . Corey Ivey, hard as he tries, can not keep up with the big boys. Blah blah blah blah blah

Maybe it was a bit much to expect the Ravens to repeat Monday’s performance against the still-undefeated New England Patriots, but few people would’ve anticipated the beating the Indianapolis Colts are administering to the Ravens in the first half of tonight’s contest at M&T Bank Stadium.

Indianapolis has converted two Ravens turnovers into touchdowns, running back Joseph Addai has scored three times (two rushing and one passing), and the Ravens sideline is beginning to look like the medical ward at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center.

The only glimmer of optimism came from rookie return specialist Yamon Figurs, who returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. It was the organization’s first kickoff return for a score since Jermaine Lewis went 84 yards against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV on Jan. 28, 2001.

Figurs becomes the first player in franchise history to return a kick and punt for touchdowns in the same season.

Other notes:

*David Pittman has not fared well in his first extended action of the season. On the Colts’ opening possession, quarterback Peyton Manning completed four passes to receivers covered by Pittman – including a 34-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Pittman was victimized again in the second quarter when he slipped on rookie Anthony Gonzalez’s down-and-out move, and Gonzalez hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass.

*Although Ravens fans had hoped that cornerback Chris McAlister’s strained right knee might have improved for tonight’s game (it didn’t), cornerback Samari Rolle’s inactive status was surprising. Rolle, who was limited in practice, was not listed on the team’s original inactive report, and he was spotted standing on the sidelines. McAlister, who sat out his fifth contest in the last seven games, did not practice last week due to a strained right knee. Corey Ivy started in place of McAlister and Derrick Martin started for Rolle.

*Running back Willis McGahee (leg), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (knee) and linebacker Bart Scott (broken left hand) left the game briefly but returned.

*Manning’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Addai – Manning’s second of the evening – was the 300th of his career, making him the fifth quarterback in NFL history to reach that plateau.

John Madden said it best, start Smith the rest of the way at least to see what we have and not have another Derek Anderson move with Smith.
To all you pro-Boller guys, I think we have seen enough of him.

My the way, I support Tex in his past McNair comments. McNair looked bad this season and being pretty banged up has had something to do with it. That being said, I am not going to blame every interception, fumble and the like on McNair just as some of the pro-Boller people continually throw McNair under the bus and forgive Boller for every miscue he commits.

Boller just doesn't have the "it" to be a starter. I don't think he is the type of guy that could get the rest of his teammates to rally around him like a McNair or maybe even a Troy Smith.

You heard about many of the players expressing dismay when talk of telling McNair to sit down came up (before McNair volunteered to himself); I have never heard much of the same sentiment about Boller at any point in his career from any of his actual teammates.

It is these non-measurable leadership traits that McNair and maybe even Troy Smith has that Boller doesn't.

Flame on my statements all you want, but that is just the way any non-biased observer (John Madden said this in much shorter statements tonight) would see the Ravens current qb situation.

As for Chris Redman, I hope he earns himself a second start tommorrow night.

In the 2003 training camp he actually played pretty well, but we all know what came about from the Billick-Boller love affair from that.

In St. Louis, Redman had no confidence from the coach so he pretty much played like Boller in Denver in 2005. Of course Redman gets cut for a single performance like that while we still have Boller.

I actually thought there was much promise in Redman from what I saw in 2002, but then Billick must've fallen for the deep ball (and loser mentality) of Jeff Blake and came up with the Redman "back injury".

How come we continually must state the disclaimer "I know Troy Smith isn't it but..." when referring to wanting to see Troy Smith play and we are supposed to accept the statement "Chris Redman was horrible" when in fact we haven't really seen any of these two play more than six or seven games at the pro level? We have seen Boller play in some 40 games and we have to give him even more chances? What kind of logic is that? Trying the same experiment over and over again and, despite getting the same result we expect something different the next time, is mental insanity.

Smith may or may not be the answer, Redman may be worth nothing, but we will never know unless we give them at least a quarter of the opportunities that we have given to Kyle Boller.
