Hey guys! Kickoff in an hour.

I can't PBP today, so if someone wants to do it, feel free. Otherwise, enjoy the game, and GO RAVENS!! :kewl:

I don't have interactive coverage which sucks so I'm without any access to the game :o

Stockers, I'll try to keep the thread as updated as possible. Can't full PBP though, just too busy.

Seph has done a heroic job with little support. I hope someone will fill the gap. If i could see it, I might offer, but being in Florida...

Carry on...

Sephy
10-07-2007, 04:33 PM
Willis running and catching the ball well. McNair still doesn't look sharp.

Sephy
10-07-2007, 04:38 PM
This playcalling is effing pathetic. If McNair can't get the ball downfield, take him out.

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 04:39 PM
Actually that's putting it nicely.

McNair looks like crap.

:bag:

StingerNLG
10-07-2007, 04:41 PM
This is not a great start. What in the world was that tipped up pass??

It's like McNair gave it a full throwing motion, and the ball left his hand like it was made by NERF!!

This is getting rediculous.

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 04:45 PM
Special team screw up . . . . well, Figurs. We're starting in the hole again. This is pathetic . . . top to bottom :bag:

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 04:46 PM
McNair pass to the guy I can't spell . . . incomplete. McNair crappy pass AGAIN

Third and long . . . cripes

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 04:47 PM
McNair pass to Mason . . . no good. Flag on play.

pass interference . . .

StingerNLG

McNair's 1st quarter stats: 6-10.....32 yards.

Yeah, 32 yards.

Sephy
10-07-2007, 04:52 PM
Playcalling is ass, and McNair is HORRIBLE. Please bring in Boller and open up the playbook.

StingerNLG
10-07-2007, 04:52 PM
And another punt. No ability to go downfield.

Anyone else still believe this game is a "gimme"? :(

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 04:53 PM
Piss ass bad pass from McNair again.

Oh wait, he completed one to Williams for a whole lot of nothing.

We have to punt.

Another flag . . . . illegal block in the back.

It's the penalty bowl. :nerd:

camdenyard
10-07-2007, 04:54 PM

Hey . . . their offense is as bad as ours :rolling:

ladyraven127
10-07-2007, 05:01 PM
I just realized we were in the second quarter . . . . wooohooo . . . . it's a true barn burner, eh?

Maybe we should leave the defense in and see if they can score. :bag:

camdenyard
10-07-2007, 05:03 PM
Hey . . . their offense is as bad as ours

No kidding.

This is pathetic. Defenses play like dogshit one week, then they play us and all of a sudden they are the '85 Bears.

UKRavenStockers
10-07-2007, 05:05 PM
Just turn it into a game of rugby between the two D's, sweet jesus this is unbearable on the gamecast

8/13 for 41 yards, that's awful. If he can't go deep get Boller the hell in there, this is pitiful.

Have we registered a sack or a hit or a pressure with our base D yet?

camdenyard
10-07-2007, 05:06 PM
McNair isn't being given any time to throw.

StingerNLG
10-07-2007, 05:12 PM
Holy cow. Adam Terry out, and looks serious. And now Flynn down too?

Sephy
10-07-2007, 05:12 PM
Terry sprains/breaks his ankle, Gaither comes in.
Flynn hurt something as he flopped down after the play, now Chester will come in.

Whee! Injuries!

Sephy
10-07-2007, 05:15 PM
3rd and goal from the 10 and they don't even TRY for the endzone. This is f-ing ridiculous!

pyite32
10-07-2007, 05:15 PM
jeez, they should just start kicking on 3rd down in case there is a bad snap or something...

UKRavenStockers
10-07-2007, 05:17 PM
What's that? 6 healthy O-linemen if Flynn and Terry are serious? Or is it five?

I assume it's Gaither, Brown, Chester, Grubbs, Yanda along the line?

RavenDavey
10-07-2007, 05:17 PM
I think it is official.....

We enter the DEAD ZONE instead of the RED ZONE!!

pyite32

I believe that this is going to be one of those seasons where one must self-medicate to watch.

By the way . . . . . has there ever been a game where a team has NO passing yards for the entire game?

Just curious :bag:

I was indeed correct:

LINK (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/boxscore?game_id=29051&displayPage=tab_box_score&season=2006&week=REG13)

Gross Passing Yards = -5
Sacks - 5 for 37 yards
Net Passing Yards = -42

At least we aren't that bad :o

Did Billick pick up a prescription for two cojones at half time? ;)

Greg

Odds Maker time folks to add some excitement to the afternoons proceedings, gimme odds on the following:

Ravens up 15-0 with 10mins left in the 4th.

Boller comes in to rest McNair with a two TD lead.

Ravens go to prevent offense and prevent defense.

Ravens win 15-13 as we hold on the 2pt conversion?

The X-rays on tackle Adam Terry came back negative, but he does have a bad ankle sprain. The word on center Mike Flynn is that the center will get taped up and try to play again.

Touchdown . . . . lovely.

pyite32

note to Billick, that is how you score a touchdown. Oh wait we would need a QB who could accurately throw the ball over 10 yards as well....

Beerracuda
10-07-2007, 06:18 PM
3 and out, as the wonderful playcalling sets up another 3rd and long, and our ever-accurate QB McScare throws a horribly inaccurate pass that wouldn't have made it to the sticks anyway.

Fucking pathetic!!

At least the D identified the screen there

Purpleguy
10-07-2007, 06:20 PM
Don't even think of pinning this one on the defense. They are getting pressure. That was just a great throw by Dilfer. Our whole problem is Mr. Checkdown,Steve McNair.

Niners 132 yards total offense. Ravens - not a lot better. Defenive struggle? Nah, bad offenses.

Beerracuda
10-07-2007, 06:27 PM
heh, you would think that Nolan would know that you can't run that kind of play against a fast defense like the Ravens'.

I guess he comes from the same school of thought as Billick. The University of Some Guys Never Learn.

Greg
10-07-2007, 06:28 PM
It's time to yank him, one, MAYBE two passes of more than 10 yards downfield attempted. He can't even hit the underneath stuff to move the chains.

They don't even respect that we will try to throw downfield, and by that I mean more than 10-15 yards. Hell, we don't even throw more than 5 yards past the LOS.

Purpleguy
10-07-2007, 06:31 PM
The fact is that this isn't an injury. He's moving around ok today. McNair is just completely washed up. He's scared to death to throw a pick and his arm is ragged.

Greg
10-07-2007, 06:46 PM
No, it's like an extra 5 yards on the punt . . . well, when you punt it IN THE AIR through the end zone it doesn't matter.

What happened to his sideline punting?

Beerracuda
10-07-2007, 06:47 PM
Again, need 13 yards? Quick fix, just pass it for 5.

God, I have to say this - this might be the most boring team I've ever watched. I can seriously say that I've only REALLY cheered once this season, and that was Reed's punt return TD in Week 1.

UKRavenStockers

Guess you did not se the score of the SD Denver game today huh???? 41-3!! We have that kind of talent!!!!No excuses...stop supporting this piss poor coach it has been like this for too long

One game doesn't make a coach, Turner's been a terrible head coach. He's a great offensive coordinator but he's a terrible HC. Billick is still a good HC, and I'd take him over Norv Turner, if you can Billick who provides an upgrade? You won't find any better coaches available to take this team forward if you can Billick.

What you need to do is tell him once and for all to yield any control of the offense, it started to get moving when he took over the playcalling last year but it's been far too dink and dunk this year. If it doesn't take off under Boller, let Neuheisel take full control of the offense, full control.

Greg
10-07-2007, 07:41 PM
BB has never called a good game...

Really, in Minnesota he never did? How about last year? No good games?

He's a good head coach except he should have benched McNair. The problem wasn't the play calling, except maybe a bit more running. The problem was his QB has no confidence to throw downfield and checked down continually.

ClericBlackDave
10-07-2007, 08:01 PM
But he does control the QB...Dont let the puppeteer off

That's perhaps the silliest thing I've heard. The QB has agency, he decides where to throw the ball. He can make a choice.

There is a reason why DWill and Clayton don't exist anymore, they are running more intermediate to deep routes that our current QB won't throw to.

McNair is the issue. Whether or not Boller is the solution, McNair is killing this teams offense right now.

Greg
10-08-2007, 12:10 AM
And for god sakes leave the Vikings stats alone!! He has done nothing here...Thats about a decade.

I'm sorry, you brought up how he calls games. He has called 16 games since Fassel was fired and none before that until we go back to Minny. I think he called some fine games last year and even did in the playoff loss. McNair threw two crushing picks. The first one in the end zone and the second was behind D Will that if it hits him in stride was going to be a huge play. If McNair hits those two plays we might be talking up the Lombardi the team just won.

But if we want a full body of work to look at to determine his ability to call a game we have to go back to Minny.

It's hard to rate today since the ball was only thrown deep enough once to cause the camera showing the line play to have to pan. I have no idea how often the WRs were open deep.

I would have run the ball a bit more, but not substantially, part of the reason McGahee has a nice average is that we throw enough to keep 8 out of the box. Though with McNair they aren't far from the box.
