All the quotes/Radio shows from the players where they will not admit that there could be a big problem that needs to be addressed with the way they are playing?

It seems to me (and I will admit that this is just based on quotes and radio shows, it could be totally different in the locker room) that the players are all downplaying the problems so much and waiting for them to fix themselves. Nothing positive seems to get done from this. Example, the Cleveland game they spent all week downplaying the problem and trying to act like the rivarly and playing two ex-ravens on offense was not a reason to get fired up. They conviced themselves pretty well b/c they didn't even get close to fired up for the game at all.

Also all the defensive players talking about how getting Trevor Pryce back will magically fix all the problems they are having. First Price himself said that he is not a catch all and will not fix the problems, second he doesn't come back until the Pittsburgh game so are they just going to wait until then to try and win?

I mean show some freaking heart!!!

and then there is Billick, he makes everything seem so simple. Yet everything he says is complete BS.

Sorry I am venting and frustrated.

I am certain that you are voicing the sentiments of the MAJORITY of Ravens fans!

I'm not at all bothered, things that most players say to the media are more vanilla than the plays and schemes you see from teams in the pre-season.

So long as they're working hard in practice and not giving our coming opponents any bulletin board material I'm not at all bothered, I pay little attention to what they say in the media, it's what they say on the field that matters.

Truer words have never been written on a messageboard.

It's truly amazing to see how people fly off the handle about words being said in the media.

It is ALL BS and nothing more.

I agree that they are coached to say certain things to the media. We will never get what we want said.

Ray seems sincerely pissed, he wants a ring so bad, I am sure he is up everyone's ass.

I am not worried as much as I am frustrated. I think we have the depth to overcome the injuries, I just think the coaches are missing the boat on what we need to do, and just like in 2001 teams have figured out how to beat the style of defense we play. It's time for us to adjust.

Check out any of my other posts, I am a big believer in ditching the blitzes and make a team earn each first down, and no big plays. Ryan said it last year that his style of defense is suseptible to the big play. Well I believe we cannot risk it anymore. We can RUN the football, WELL! We have a great intermediate pass game. WE DO NOT DO WELL IN THE RED ZONE, AND HAVE NO DEEP PASSING GAME! IF WE GET BEHIND, WE LOSE!

It's very simple folks, our defense is better than most, our offense has one gear, game plan for both.

I completely disagree. If you think that they don't know they have sucked then you are completely wrong. They are saying what they should be saying. Don't ever believe any sports player's words because they fudge things so they don't get reemed by coaches and players.

As for Trevor...he is being way too humble. The lack of pass rush started when Trevor went out. Coincidence? Maybe...but I doubt it. He said that so the players who are playign don't have that mindset of "We can't win today because we don't have Trevor".

I understand being frustrated about the loss last week but remember winning cures everything. When we win this weekend everybody can jump back on the bandwagon that I never leave.

Kudos to yeahravens.

With or without Trevor, our defense isn't as confusing for other teams as it was last year. Although I'm not a huge Parcells fan, he mentioned the other evening that other teams have had the entire off season to study film and figure us out. Just like other sports, it's all about the adjustments. IT'S TIME TO MAKE THEM!!!!

Unless you have conducted a nicely designed quantitative survey of Ravens fans, I wouldn't be too quick to jump to that conclusion.

I agree with some previous posts about not really caring too much about what the players say in the media, as long as they aren't attacking each other. Just go out and play.

No, I'm not tired of players speaking in the media as if the sky isn't falling in Baltimore, because it's NOT.
Talk is cheap anyway. Just look at what all that talk got Saddam Hussein.

You are misunderstanding me. First I want to comment that I don't appreciate the bandwagon comment. I am not a fair weather fan and I have not given up on the team. I have just been a little frustrated by what I would call the lack of a sense of urgency in the players words and actions on the field.

As for your comments on Trevor Pryce while I think that his presence will help the pass rush, it is not the whole answer. 4 out of our 6 sacks this season have been from the secondary. We barely had any pressure on Carson Palmer when Pryce was healthy. The second game when we had Pryce for part of the game he did get 1 sack but the other 3 we had that game came from Ivy, Sapp, and Landry. It should be noted more than losing Pryce, this is the game where the Jets exposed to the entire league the glaring weakness in the defense. Since then we have had 1 sack and it was on a flustered Matt Leinart.

The comment wasn't directed to you or anybody specific to this board. It was a general comment to the ones out there that have said they are fans and have completed given up. They know who they are.

You could have directed it at the staff of the Baltimore Sun Sports page, who apparently have implemented a policy in which they whine like infants every Tuesday about how the sky is falling on the Ravens. They have done this even after victories. They have had these ridiculous Chicken Little articles three straight weeks, two of which came after wins. I know Preston is an insufferable ass, but what got into Jamison Hensley, who I think wrote these end-of-the-world articles? They look so foolish and petty that the legitmate points they make get lost in the garbage.

Ray Lewis spoke out and got crushed on this message board. What do you want them to "The sky is falling, the season is over , really looking forward to the offseason and the draft". Anyone who has played high school or college ball knows you keep it in house and deal w/ it on the field. The media are a bunch of leeches anyway.( Mike Preston worst reporter ever).
