I've been to all the home games at Ravens stadium. Trying to decide if the Ravens vs. Broncos playoff game or Sunday's Ravens vs. Chargers game was louder.
I'm sure that the high point in the end zone (band side) was the loudest I've heard.
As for sustained noise, I give the edge to the Playoff game...SuperBowl season.
Thoughts?

Denver playoff, Jax 2000, Colts '98, Colts '05 were IMHO all sustained louder , i.e. throughout the game. But last Sunday's final minute matched them all for loudest moments.

Jax 2000 was the loudest I've ever heard the stadium.
The loudest game as a whole was the Denver playoff game IMO.

The JAX game and the Broncos playoff games were louder IMO. More of a continuous loud. Sunday's game was defintely loud at the end though!

That Bronco game was electric. I was amazed by the amount of energy in that stadium (especially when Sharpe scored that TD and we knew it was GAME OVER).

Another thing that stands out in my mind about the Broncos game is how damn cold and windy it was!

The old TV sideline people, should bring a sound level meter to M&T.They only seem to bring those babies out in domes.I'd love to know what decibels you all are hollering at.

Only outdoor stadium I can remember them using it at was at Seattle's house late last season, I think for the Gnats game.

The 2003 Seattle game was amazingly loud...and only 2/3 of the stadium was filled since the rest gave up and went home.
I wasn't at JAX 2000 which many people say was the loudest. I'd rank 'em the following way:
1. Denver playoff game 2000
2. Bengals 2003
3. Chargers 2006
4. Pittsburgh 2003
That last 3-4 minutes was as loud as I can recall.

Moreso the last 20 seconds were the loudest I think I have EVER heard at the stadium. And I mean louder than the Ray Lewis hit on the C-Mac FG return.

Hay T, I love the new icon. :T2:
By the way, I also agree, that this past sunday had the loudest 'burst' of sound at the end. But Denver was sustained for the entire game.
and another cool new icon:

For the last few minutes of the Charger game I would say that's the loudest I've ever heard the stadium.

While I wasn't at the Charger game, it certainly sounded loud on TV. I was at the Denver playoff game, the Jax 2000 and the Seattle comeback win (I stayed until the end too) games. I'd give the edge to the Jax 2000 game over the Denver playoff game.

It could have been for one minute or five minutes, but I believe the crowd on Sunday reached a level that had never before been reached at the stadium.

Not even close.
Playoff was much louder.
First times colts were here.
Most Steeler Games.
While last week was loud on third downs and when they got the ball back at the end I didnt think it was all that great. I had to stand up in 113 a few times and get people up. Defense needs you on 1st and 2nd down too in a tight game.
When they scored first it was a tomb in there.
Nice job at the end but don't break your arm patting ourselves on the back.
You want loud try KC at Arrowhead.
IMHO

Denver playoff game was loudest, per it stayed loud the whole time
First colts game here i think 98, was very loud too, i remember that game thinking ive never heard boo's that loud before.
This past SD game to me was loud in the 1st and 4th qrtrs, but when the game lulled in the 3rd qrtr it was very loud when we were on D.
Jax game i remember being loud after the game...but during dont remember it being exceptionally loud like the denver and colts games. Ive only missed 2 home games.

i would have to say the playoff game against the tits in 2003 was louder than the SD game.
it is funny to me how after every home game we hear how it has never been louder at the stadium.
not to mention i sit in club level. those people never get off thei ass. but in the tits playoff game, even they were cheering. i could hardly hear myself cheer the place was so loud.

For the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter, the stadium may have been the loudest it ever was. The playoff game against the Broncos was probably the loudest for a whole game, as everyone was excited this being the 1st playoff game in Baltimore in 23 years. The Jacksonville game wasn't loud the whole game, only when the Ravens came back & won. The 1st half of that game, the fans booed the team off the field. Jimmy Smith lit up the Ravens secondary that day. When Banks hit Sharpe for the GW TD, the place went off like a sailor at sea for 6 months. I saw someone mention the Seattle game, when 60,000 Ravens fans left early. I will say the remaining 10,000 fans or so were very noisy for our number. You never leave a game until it's over. The Colts game in 98 would rank up their also, as Harbaugh led the Ravens to the victory, then gave Johnny U the game ball on the big screen. Also, the Stiller Sunday night game in 03, after we had clinched the division since Cincy lost during the day. The stadium was all Ravens as all the Pissburgh fans stayed away since their team was 6-10 that year & wanted Cowher fired.

I was at that fateful Jax 2000 game and I can vividly remember being both unable to hear or speak afterward for quite some time...
I must admit that my television set was literally reverberating during the final few minutes of the San Diego game Sunday, though...
We definitely need some way to measure how awesome and noisy our fans are, for I believe that when properly motivated, they are amongst the Best in the whole of America...

What was really impressive was listening to the crowd last night on the 1 Winning Drive show. Ray was miked up and you could hear the crowd on that last drive. Being there was one thing, but hearing it as it was happening on the radio made the hairs on my neck stand up. It was quite impressive. Let's all pat ourselves on the back, 12th man.

For a very loud and fairly sustainable noise, try doing the yell Jim Carrey did in "Dumb and Dumber" when he's riding in that truck and says, Now for the most annoying sound ever..."
The guy that sits next to me (and myself) do it all the time. The guy in front of us must hate us. :)

The loudest games I've ever seen in person are the Denver playoff game in '00 and the Colts' return to Baltimore. The latter being the only game I've ever seen where the crowd passed around a fake corpse of the opposing team's owner in a coffin. :179421:
For the Denver playoff game, I was actually in the last row in the end zone up next to the utility boxes. The people sitting immediately around us were all Broncos fans. Because of that fact, in the 2000 SB highlight film, you can see the silhouettes of two solitary figures standing up in the last row when the camera pans up during player intros. Those two figures are me & my dad.
Anyway, the end of the SD game was the loudest I've ever heard it on TV. We seem to get pumped up for our defense more than fans of other teams. Maybe that's because the D is all we've had to get excited about for so long... :p
Denver playoff, Jax 2000, Colts '98, Colts '05 were IMHO all sustained louder , i.e. throughout the game. But last Sunday's final minute matched them all for loudest moments.
Agreed, it really wasn't all that loud Sunday until late in the 4th quarter...
I'd say the loudest I ever experienced was three games, the Steerler's SNF game in '03 when Jamal got 2000, the following week in the playoff loss to the Titans, and last years opener against the Colts. I would've loved to have been there for Jags 2000 and the Denver game, but was living in OC at the time and didn't have a dime to my name to buy tickets. Thankfully both of those circumstances have changed.

As a fan base we trend to beat ourselves up about how much noise the crowd makes during the game. Yet opposing teams run no huddle offensives just to try to work around the crowd noise and visiting teams practice with extra noise. Just listen to the replay on the NFL channel and you can hear the hum the whole game. Better yet go to Charlotte or Jacksonville and than you will realize how loud the stadium is compared to others. I once had the pleasure of watching a game on the sidelines when we played the Browns. It was the big "Stoney Case vs Tim Couch" game. Anyway one of the things that struck on the sidelines was how loud the stadium was down on the field, and that wasn't even a loud game. One thing is for sure, no other city in the NFL embraces defense like we embrace our defense.

My loudest games:
Colts return on SNF last year
4th Quarter of Seahawks game, '03 I believe
Steelers game last season (the crowd stepped it up big in spite of a large contingent of Steelwagoners)

Bingo! The Denver game was loud for 3.5 hours but it never got as loud as it did the last drive that SD had. I thought the upper deck was gonna collapse. I could still hear DEFENSE ringing in my ears Mon morning.

The loudest was the Denver Playoff game. Oddly, probably the coldest too.
Anyone else, on this board, at the Seattle game in '03 and stay til the end? Some woman blew a stop sign and T-boned my car right in front of my lot before the game and it was inoperable. After everyone cleared out by the 4th quarter, the Ravens made the miracle comeback and I've never heard a louder 20,000 people.

The Denver game was significantly louder then the SD chargers game. There are more Ravens fans in the crowd and the game had more meaning then the SD game. Also, there were more die hards (in my opinion) at the playoff game then the SD game because of the Temperature at the game. I would have to say that the Denver game was definitly one of, if not the coldest game of all time in ravens home game history. But thats what i have to say about he situation.
