My friend and I were so pumped up from yesterdays big win that we decided to celebrate by writing a pretty rad ravens song. It turned out pretty well and it gets me pumped up everytime I listen to it.. i guess it was good enough that the 98 Rock morning show played it this morning.

Its 1:45 long and is safe for work:

I hope you guys like it!

Well it ain't Led Zeppelin!

I'll leave it to some of the younger crowd to comment. I don't want to hurt your feelings :)

My mother taught me a long time ago that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. So, I think I'll take her advice.

im gonna do a song for every raven victory -- so hopefully we will have 12 more songs..

I could probably do different genres as well but rap really emphasizes lyrics and the message is about the ravens not the tune ;)

An Orioles/Angelos song would be great awesome...

Game over and the Ravens win . . . hmmmm . . . . catchy, but not as catchy as "Are you Cleveland in Disguise". :D

I think it's neato (bet you can't tell I'm old from that statement, eh?) :nerd:

Nice job, especially getting it done overnight. I like it and I'm an 'old' guy.

A real music fan should learn to listen to and appreciate all music genres.

I'm no rap enthusiast, but that cut at least didn't make me nauseous :ralph: the way that Rob Long show intro does.

R-O B-O L-O N-G...... R-O B-O L-O N-G....

It all makes me nauseous. It's cut and paste entertainment... let's not go so far as to say it's music. It is also, by definition, evidently, repititious, and redundant! Rap, Hip-Hop is a giant leap backwards for music... so far back, it ISN'T music! It's also redundant! Did I say it's redundant? They say it's all about the lyrics... and it is. Since when are lyrics music? And couldn't there be something new? or something new? Oh that's right it's redundant... over and over again.
A real music fan is not required to appreciate all kinds of music... just all kinds of good music! :179421:

I agree with that. This rap was much easier on the ear than the Rob Long thing. I think the banging on garbage can lids music has something to do with it also.

No reason to rap the rap in terms of the writing. I don't like rap as music because I too think it is redundant, repetitive and redundant. But these guys are showing great enthusiasm and more creativity than most.

I thought it was pretty good. Had that underground west coast style.

If you like that ravens "song" and you don't like the Rob Long rap than...well, stick to Achey Breaky Heart and Rascal Flatts...

It doesn't take a rap mogul to call garbage when they see it. Just because I live in Parkville doesn't mean that's where I grew up.

The fact is the rap is garbage. It doesn't flow well. The rhymes are horrible. The beat is mediocre at best and was probably found on some lame computer program. I was trying not to be harsh before, but the beastie boys they are not and never will be.

Post the "song" at allhiphop.com and see how it gets ripped to shreds.

It's a good effort, and hell I like the Ravens too but, what can ya say.

GameOverRavensWin

thats like your opinion man... keep in mind this was written and completed 2 hours after the game was finished. Are the rhymes really that bad? I wrote the first half and the hook so Im cant take credit/blame for the second half.

The beat is original and was composed using Reason.

But yeah all feedback is appreciated because after talking to the people at 98 rock it seems like they want us to do more if the ravens keep winning.

p.s.

Rap is not about the ghetto or trying to be hard... its merely another genre of music. I sing in a hardcore band so its not even my forte... maybe ill do a hard rock version to appease everyone else ;)

It's not that bad I guess. It might be more the voice than the rhymes. I think if you gave the lyrics to someone with a good voice for rap would sound better. Change a few words in the first verse to make it flow better and it wouldn't be that bad.

The second verse though...didn't really like any of it.

It was a good effort and I like the enthusiasm, again I really didn't want to sound too harsh.
